MSNBC Let's Miley Cyrus Have It For "Disturbing" VMA Performance

Though she was just being Miley and has, as planned, rocketed to the No. 1 most-talked about moment from the 2013 VMAs, plenty of talking heads are still exploding over Sunday night's outrageous performance from the 20-year old pop star, including MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski.

Mika unleashed a tongue lashing on Miley on this morning's Morning Joe:

“I wouldn’t make a joke of it actually. I think that was really, really disturbing. That young lady, who is 20, is obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed, clearly has confidence issues, probably eating disorder and I don’t think anybody should have put her on stage. That was disgusting and embarrassing...That was not attractive. That was not fun. That was not funny. That was really, really bad for anybody who’s younger and impressionable and she’s really messed up. [MTV] should be ashamed of themselves....The whole thing was cringe worthy but I feel bad for her. She is a mess. Someone needs to take care of her. Someone needs not to put her on stage and make a complete fool of herself....I don’t want to see that ever again on this show.”

What do you think, Instincters? Was Miley's VMA performance disturbing?

Miley production value was "1st grade arts & crafts" level, at best.  And she managed to kick Robin Thicke off key to his own song, she should stick to her own material.

Wow - Does Mika know Miley personally? I think it's far worse to criticize a 20 year old as being deeply disturbed with a possible eating disorder, perhaps Mika needs to take a closer look at her own moral compus. Additionally I think parents who allow impressionable children to watch MTV as a whole or the VMA's should be examined more closely than a 20 year old who was putting on a risque performance the same way Madonna did when she performed like a virgin over 20 years ago.

Or it simply was a publicity stunt to get the kind of reaction that Mika obviously fell for. Personally I think Miley has been trying too hard to break out of her Disney image. With most music artists if the work is good it will speak for itself. If you have to resort to this kind of shock then it's obviously you think your own work is crap.
