MTV To Premiere "True Life: We Are Orlando" In Honor Of Unspeakable Tragedy

Never forget. 

MTV will devote an episode of its True Life docu-series to the Orlando Pulse shooting tragedy that has forever altered the LGBT community in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

For the first time in the MTV “True Life” franchise’s 18 year history, viewers can meet the four young adults featured in the episode and follow their stories as the docuseries is being filmed and produced via MTV’s Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat Discover and Tumblr. This first-of-its-kind format gives viewers the chance to meet heroes and survivors of the attack, hear first-hand accounts of what happened inside Pulse nightclub, support the entire Orlando community and keep the stories of those impacted alive. The digital and social content lead in to the TV premiere where viewers can see how the four individuals at the center of the stories they've been following plan to continue their roads toward recovery. Around the episode, MTV will utilize long-standing campaigns to provide mental health resources for people dealing with trauma, pathways to better understand and challenge anti-LGBT bias, as well as ways to support Orlando and take action on gun violence. During the “True Life: We Are Orlando” special, MTV will air a special remembrance dedicated to the 49 lives lost during the attack as well as to the survivors and all the loved ones who had their lives changed forever. The tribute will feature the song “Hands,” which was released by GLAAD and Interscope Records following the attack and includes Mary J Blige, Jason Derulo, Tyler Glenn, Selena Gomez, Halsey, Ty Herndon, Imagine Dragons, Juanes, Adam Lambert, Mary Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, Kacey Musgraves, MNEK, Alex Newell, P!nk, Prince Royce, Nate Ruess, RuPaul, Troye Sivan, Jussie Smollett, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor.
