Peek Inside The Lives Of Rising NYC Artists In New Online Multi-Media Project
We had thought we graduated from our nightlife class with flying colors, but one look at photographer Cyle Suesz' CLASS New York yearbook leaves us wanting to go back to night school. The striking multi-media project is following the careers of 20 New York-based creatives (a majority of whom identify as LGBTQ) and has already produced content that we'd nominate as time capsule material for future civilizations to explore. “I wanted to do something that would capture all of the moments of these artists’ development.. to focus on behind the scenes events and public milestones that make up a career,” Suesz says of a project that's redolent of the art world's best-known intersections with New York's underground.
According to the release, the inaugural CLASS includes "top model Daniel Garofali, rising performer Jungle Pussy and Chapman, Fashion Designer Mei Liu of Priory of Ten, Lady Gaga Designer Ryan Jordan and VFiles Editor Chelsea Fairless, as well as Robot MoonJuice, Gabe Jenkins, Dai Burger, Natasha Nightingale, Charla Laurilston, Lafem Ladosha, Sigrid Lauren, Chris Gelinas, Joey Labeija, Ronny Estrella, Sylvia Heisel, Jae Joseph, Kennedy and Chantel Valentene."
CLASS will keep up with the nascent artists, actors, models and performers in the online yearbook through summer, when the class graduates. Check out everything from "field trips" to interviews and extra credit at classnewyork.com
"2 Good 2 B Forgotten" is what we'd write on the yearbook for this year's class.
