It's almost a month later and we're still not done talking about Miley Cyrus's Video Music Awards performance! (Maybe this means she wins?)
Now two of our greatest performers (both past and present), P!nk and Cher, are chiming in on Miley's polarizing MTV twerk-a-thon!
Who offered some tough love and who surprised us with the shade they aimed towards the pop tartlet??
While promoting her new film Thanks For Sharing, P!nk shared her thoughts on Miley's performance in response to a question from E!'s Marc Malkin.
P!nk says, "Am I into it? No, I think it's tacky.
"She's really freaking talented. She's beautiful. She can sing her ass off and to go up there and do that? She's cheating herself and she's cheating the rest of us…She can do what she wants. People can like it if they want. I'm not going to buy it. She can do better. I've seen her do better."
"I twerk all the time like a mofo. There's a place for that and it's not on stage."
While P!nk appears to be aiming for constructive criticism, it's Cher that really savages Miley.
A legendary boundary pusher in fashion and video, Cher kicked doors open for generations of pop upstarts, and she admires risk takers.
Miley Cyrus? Not so much. Her hyperactive twerk routine on MTV's Video Music Awards "was so bad," Cher says. "I'm not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well. She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."
Everybody has an opinion, but do you think Miley should take some of this critique to heart??
What do you think of the commentary from her fellow performers?
