Rush Limbaugh Ridicules CNN's Don Lemon For Being Gay

We should've learned our lesson about trying to hold shock jock Rush Limbaugh to a higher standard years ago, but we can't help it. We're human. So, when the right wing blowhard spouts off with nuanced homophobia on airwaves, we unfortunately still pay attention (because millions of others actually are paying attention to Rush, for some frightening reason).

After exemplary CNN host Don Lemon reported Rush's Obama-Donald Sterling conspiracy theory, the radio pundit decided became upset that someone actually took him seriously. "How did they get there?" Rush asked of CNN's report on his very words. Outrage over being quoted wasn't enough for Rush, however; he soon slipped in a subtle derogatory anti-gay insult directed at Don.

“I don’t know how they get there,” he continued. “Erin Burnett played the sound bite and then went to Mr. Black Hole himself, Don Lemon—who sleeps with men, proudly—for comment.”

"Who sleeps with men, proudly." What a low, backhanded homophobic trick pulled by Rush here.

Of course we're being generous by hoping Rush was referring to Don's joke that a black hole explains the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight 370 with his whole "Mr. Black Hole himself" comment, but one never knows with him.

Rush, you are the worst of the conservative commentators! Don Lemon is a courageous young black CNN commentator who is also black! You and your kind will NEVER have his god grace and tolerance!

CONSERVATIVES NEED TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE.    GO RUSH!

Rush is just jealous because NO gay or bisexual men in their right minds would ever want to sleep with him.

the guy matches his name (Limbaugh)  isn't that a cruise ship?  hahahahaha  fat asshole.

I'm sorry. You can't tell me that that fat bastard of an old man hasn't had his weenie washed by a man and enjoyed it.

Who does Rush sleep with proudly.........or does he?  Does anybody care?

It reads as more of a statement of fact, albeit a bit sarcastic.  Is not Mr. Lemon proud to be gay?

I don't sense any irrational fear -- a prerequisite for phobia -- or prejudice.  However, neither do I see any need to mention it.  What does Mr. Lemon's homosexuality have to do with his mistaken interpretation of Mr. Limbaugh's earlier statement regarding Mr. Sterling's racism?  And it was mistaken, by the way, because Mr. Lemon failed to detect Mr. Limbaugh's clear sarcasm that Mr. Sterling could have avoided this mess by being a bigger donor to Mr. Obama; his point being that a lot of bad behavior is excused when enough support is shown for liberal causes (See Baldwin, Alec).
