Sia To Donate Portion Of Eminem Collaboration Proceeds To LA Gay & Lesbian Center

Sia may not be backing away from her controversial defense of Eminem, who she claims is not homophobic despite his vitriolic anti-gay lyrics, but she is stepping up with her own continued support of the LGBT community.

The openly bisexual singer songwriter is donating a portion of the profits from her collaboration with Eminem titled "Beautiful Pain" to the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center (LAGLC).

LAGLC explains Sia's relationship with the Center:

The Australian singer, featured on the cover of last week’s Billboard, was introduced to the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center last year by longtime Center supporter and superstar songwriter Linda Perry. Perry had invited her to attend the annual “An Evening with Women” benefit that she produces. Sia was so impressed by the Center’s work, especially the organization’s services for homeless LGBT youth, that she volunteered to perform at this year’s fundraiser, singing “Titanium” for a sold-out crowd.

Sia's contribution will go towards the LAGLC's 50-bed shelter and transitional living program, medical care, meals, clothing, counseling, GED preparation program, job placement services and much more.

Does Sia's support of the LAGLC take some of the sting away from her continued work with Eminem? As we reported yesterday, Eminem still makes no apologies for his homophobic lyrics.

What's your take, Instincters?
