Two Men Arrested For Having Sex In Uganda Hotel
Ugandan police arrested two men having a sex in a Jinja, Uganda hotel.
According to reports, sexual moans were heard about 20 minutes after the men had checked into the room they had booked at the hotel. The police were alerted by the lodging attendant who heard the men from a distance.
They were busted shortly after police arrived at the scene.
Under Uganda's new anti-gay law, it's illegal not to report gay sexual activity (even in the privacy of a hotel room). CrazyAfricanz reports that the upon hearing the "moans" the hotel's caretaker "had no option other than to call the police."
With regards to the men, under the law any person who knowingly rents a room or any premises that is used for a gay sex act faces five years in jail. If convicted of participating in gay sex the men could face life in prison.
Something has to be done.
