Vocativ's Queer Index Reveals The Most LGBT Friendly City In U.S.

What's the top city in the country for LGBT individuals?
According to the Queer Index from Vocativ, Los Angeles is the place to be!
So what's the Queer Index?
The Queer Index is a rich analysis of dozens of quality-of-life factors for America’s LGBT communities in 100 U.S. cities, based on Vocativ’s proprietary technology that mines the deep web—the 80 percent of the Internet outside the scope of search engines. According to the Index, Los Angeles is the top city in the country for LGBTs, followed in order by New York, San Francisco, Des Moines, Iowa, and Chicago.
The Index sources 32 publicly available data sets to analyze 16 key lifestyle metrics. It weighs variables that reflect and influence how and where LGBT Americans live, work, play, party, fall in love and raise families. Specific factors explored include the size of cities’ LGBT communities, number of out singles, queer-friendly businesses, hate-crime rates and even the ease of casual hookups.
Vocativ CEO Scott Cohen explains:
“For Pride Month, we wanted to create a useful, fun guide to LGBT life across the country. We started off with a simple premise: What’s life really like for the queer community. From there we homed in on the community’s passions, concerns and daily realities—and then we started collecting the data. Diving into the numbers, we learned new things about known LGBT meccas. For example, New York City has the most hate groups in the country. We also found countless surprises. Who knew that Memphis has the most single lesbians per capita in the country?”
Head over to the Queer Index for the full list and breakdown of the 35 most LGBT friendly cities in the U.S. and get detailed info on specific categories like which cities have the highest number of queer singles, the hottest for hookups, etc.
Any surprises, Instincters?

i am hear to give testimony of how i got back my husband, we got married for more than 9 years and have gotten two kids. thing were going well with us and we are always happy. until one day my husband started to behave in a way i could not understand, i was very confused by the way he treat me and the kids. later that month he did not come home again and he called me that he want a divorce, i asked him what have i done wrong to deserve this from him, all he was saying is that he want a divorce that he hate me and do not want to see me again in his life, i was mad and also frustrated do not know what to do,i was sick for more than 2 weeks because of the divorce. i love him so much he was everything to me without him my life is incomplete. i told my sister and she told me to contact a spell caster, i never believe in all this spell casting of a thing. i just want to try if something will come out of it. i contacted Dr Zuma zuk for the return of my husband to me, they told me that my husband have been taken by another woman, that she cast a spell on him that is why he hate me and also want us to divorce. then they told me that they have to cast a spell on him that will make him return to me and the kids, they casted the spell and after 1 week my husband called me and he told me that i should forgive him, he started to apologize on phone and said that he still live me that he did not know what happen to him that he left me. it was the spell that he Dr Zuma zuk casted on him that make him comeback to me today,me and my family are now happy again today. thank you Dr Zuma zuk for what you have done for me i would have been nothing today if not for your great spell. i want you my friends who are passing through all this kind of love problem of getting back their husband, wife , or ex boyfriend and girlfriend to contact and you will see that your problem will be solved without any delay.

Any index which calls itself a homophobic slur is no friend of mine's.

I thought queer was an umbrella term

Bullshit. It's homophobic Always

UGH you must be one of those people who thinks the word tranny is offensive too. There are so many more useful things to fight for. Commentary and views like this are just dividing a community that has freely used QUEER to describe itself for decades. Get over yourself.

Lol, get over myself? if you use homophobic slurs around me and consider yourself gay, I' d punch you in you face. It's just something to help you realize the importance of gay pride and self-hate, lol!

correction: the importance of gay pride and NOT self-hate

It's peace bitch

It's peace bitch

Thank you Grammar Nazi.
