Who’s The LGBTQ Communities' NBA Team?

The Golden State Warriors VS. The Cleveland Cavaliers Head To The NBA Finals!

#TEAM! Tonight is Game One of the 2018 National Basketball Association Finals. Once again, we are treated to the fourth consecutive year of the final teams being The Golden State Warriors versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s a little obvious who – out of those of us who care – the LGBTQ community wants to take home the win: The Golden State Warriors! Not only do they hail from San Francisco, but GSW may be the most progressive towards our community.

According to OutSports, GSW Owners, Peter Guber (www.bigspeak.com/speakers/peter-guber/) and Joe Lacob, sought out former Executive Rick Welts as the team President and Chief Operating Officer after he came out of the closet. Welts has been supportive of the LGBTQ – his – community and has made efforts towards the NBA becoming more inclusive. Head Coach, Steve Kerr, has been vocal about not only his support for Football players taking a knee, but also LGBTQ equality. Multiple players from GSW have been vocal of their support.

It appears GSW truly represents what some would argue as the gayest region in the United States: the Greater San Francisco area and their home court in Oakland, California.

Who are you rooting for in the NBA finals?!
