WINE: Schramsberg 2002 Blanc de Blanc
ALCOHOL: 12.8%
PRICE: $70

Risqué was invited by some of his most delicious sea-worthy LUSHES at Funny Boy Films (you know… Adam and Steve) set sail for a day out around the Channel Islands for a glorious voyage where their journey was justly christened with the disgorgement of the cork from a wonderful shared magnum of Schramsberg, Vintage 2002 Blanc de Blanc Brut.

As our ship healed along through the invigorating spray of the pacific, every seaman on board found themselves elated with the effervescent tiny bubbles, luscious mousse and the refreshingly crisp aftertaste.

It has seductive crisp aromas of citrus, acidic tropical fruits, earthy warm nuts and aromatic vanilla. ...

WINE: RustRidge 2005 Estate Chardonnay

LOCATION: Lower Chiles Valley, St. Helena, CA

ALCOHOL: 14.71%

PRICE: $30

Risqué always thinks of The Wizard Of Oz every time he grabs a bottle of RustRidge Chardonnay. His favorite scene in the movie is where Dorothy stumbles on the Tin Man who is rusted stiff (get your scarecrow brain… out of the gutter)… His only words were “Oil Can” and that is exactly how Risqué feels about RustRidge Chardonnay.

This liquid lubrication loosens his wine parched jaw and revives his rusted heart. Sparkling Light canary yellow dry farmed Estate Chardonnay expresses a bright and intense nose of apricot and fig lightly brushed with butter and a breeze of summer yellow honeysuckle...

WINE: Mendocino County 2005 Zig Zag Zin Zinfandel
ALCOHOL: 14.5%
PRICE: $15

“Mendocino County, where the roads zig zag through the coastal mountains," like some of Risqué’s LUSHES after so much Zin.  (But never drink and drive; a chauffeur is always Risqué’s preference.)  This 100% Zinfandel is barrel-aged 18 months on French and American oak that really delivers an indulgence to your nose and certainly doesn’t short change the palette.

Gorgeous amethystine garnet colors scintillate with spicy scents of nutmeg and cinnamon and clinging long legs against the glass.  Layers of ripe tart cherry, cola and caramelized coffee eventually dissipate into tall standing Lebanon cedar and stimulating orange zest. ...

WINE: Radog 2007 Gewürztraminer, Monterey, CA

ALCOHOL: 12.8%

PRICE: $25

The label couldn’t be more radical…Risqué observes “This is not your average “all serious” California sophisticated, stuck-up, uppity vintner”.  This winery actually has a surfing Bull Terrier on the label… Hanging twenty…so to speak…seriously!

This liquid is a clear, nearly colorless sparkling buff and offers sniffs of soft citrus… grapefruit, honeysuckle and golden straw with a nice stoney mineral complexity.  This Radog really howls in the mouth, blooming with white floral, ripe figs, and the only thing traditional about this Gewürztraminer is the bergamot flavors.  More spice in the mouth and soft Meyer lemon...

Wine: Guerrilla 2005 Zinfandel, Forchini Vineyard Extreme, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma, CA

Alcohol: 16.5%

Price: $25

From the Militant Mao influenced graphic “chicky” Picasso meets Gustav Klimt stylized labeled bottle to the “”Sinfully Zin” liquid contained, it has held Risqué hostage from his first captivating sip!

With a sparkling raspberry beret color this Molotov 92% Zin detonates in the olfactory with raspberries…sweet vanilla with an opposing affront of earthy mushroom and wet hay.  The palate leads with a creamy cherry bomb blast and a commando assault of ripe raspberries.  Reinforcements of sweet cola charge across the tongue with a transuding espresso finish.

Risqué loves it when a ...

{mosimage h=180}Wine: Pahlmeyer 2005 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Alcohol Content: 14%
Price: $90

Sometimes one feels like working out and many times one does not. Risqué, a connoisseur of the musclebound gym bunny and fine wine, does not. However, he has found that the Pahlmeyer 2005 Pinot Noir is quite enjoyably palatable on the tongue while watching those around flex in their muscle-bunny gaydom.

The provocative deep ruby color is submissive in comparison to the playful nose of wild cherry, warm blueberries, violet, fresh raspberry and slight hint of sandalwood. The taste heightens with bittersweet chocolate, rich, ripe raspberry and cherry, which relax into a beautiful medium body. The tannic structure is muscular enough...
