You’ve heard the stories about the lines of people waiting to get into H&M when the Swedish chain launched their collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney, right?  And did you know that Target recently fêted the McQ collection (designed by Alexander McQueen exclusively for a limited number of Target stores) with a party in Manhattan attended by VIPs like Amanda Bynes and January Jones?  Designers have been creating these limited edition and affordable collections for various major retailers for quite some time now – with limited being the key word.  Not only are these collaborations typically for a limited time only – they are also usually limited to just the girls.

Thankfully, our friends at Target know that guys like to get in on the cheap designer action too!  Remember their Bowie by Keanan Duffty collection from Fall 2007?  I sure do - I’m still getting compliments on the $100 tuxedo that I got!  Well, just in time to celebrate Earth Day (on April 22), Target is launching the Loomstate for Target collection designed by Scott Hahn and (CFDA award winner) Rogan Gregory.

Scott and Rogan – both committed environmentalists – created Loomstate back in 2004 as a casual brand that uses certified organic cotton – cotton that was produced utilizing socially and environmentally responsible methods.  Of course, these methods were employed in producing the Loomstate for Target collection as well – all of the cotton used in the line is 100% certified organic.  Trish Adams, Target’s senior vice president, says “This collection provides great quality and environmentally responsible fashion at an affordable price for women and men everywhere.”

Not only is Loomstate for Target environmentally responsible – it’s also really cool.  These are care-free clothes that you’ll actually want to wear during the hot summer months – jersey t-shirts, corduroy shorts, patch-pocket jeans, and plaid button-downs.  Everything has been washed and softened to give it a great lived-in look.  Loomstate’s signature pelican logo (a reminder of the company’s “desire to tread lightly on the earth”) is also present – prominent on board shorts and short sleeve shirts while more subtle on hoodies (my favorite!).  And with prices ranging from $14.99 to $44.99 (as opposed to $60 to $150 at Barneys New York for Loomstate’s high-end line), you really can’t go wrong (even in this tough economy)!

The Loomstate for Target collection will be available beginning April 19 for a limited time at www.target.com and select Target stores nationwide.

P.S.  Did you know that since 1946, Target has given 5% of its income through community grants and programs that benefit education, social services and the arts?  These days, Target gives more than $3 million a week!  Yet another reason why I love that store!!

It’s never too early – or too late – to try and slow down the ageing process.  I remember making the conscious decision to start taking serious care of my skin during the summer before I started college.  I went to the Chanel counter of a now-defunct department store at my local mall and spent a fortune on products that I used religiously until Chanel completely changed their skincare range (now I mainly use Dior).  I truly believe that those products – and the ones that I use today (every day) – have helped keep my skin looking younger longer.  In fact, I just had an editor friend from Vanity Fair (who is actually much younger than me) ask me at a fashion show this past February, “why don’t you have any wrinkles around your eyes?”

The Time for Men range from Elemis, the leading British spa and skincare brand, features ten different treatment products to specifically help men take better care of their skin.  “It is not a myth, it is a fact that men’s skin has different needs to women’s. The metabolism of the male skin is altered due to daily shaving with alkaline based products, resulting in loss of moisture and suppleness”, says Elemis Expert Noella Gabriel.

Time Defence Wrinkle Delay and Time Defence Eye Reviver were formulated by Elemis as an anti-ageing duo just for men.  Time Defence Wrinkle Delay was designed with pomegranate extract to help prevent water loss and stimulate the skin’s natural irrigation.  While Time Defence Eye Reviver supports the skin’s elasticity and helps to tighten and hydrate the eye area.  Both products produce clinically proven results within just 28 days!

Ready to try Elemis for yourself?  E-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with “Elemis” in the subject line and tell us in 100 words or less what you’re currently doing to battle the signs of ageing.  The first 10 entries (with a valid e-mail, home address and telephone number) will win both Elemis Time Defence Wrinkle Delay (a $93 value) and Elemis Time Defence Eye Reviver (a $65 value) – that’s $158 worth of fabulous products for FREE (don’t you just love Instinct?  And Elemis too, of course!).  Only one entry/winner per household please.

Make sure to check out www.elemis.com to learn more about Elemis and all of their award-winning men’s products!

The Made from Earth Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer saved my face. Seriously.
When I was in my late twenties, I tried just about every moisturizer I could find including rarified ingredient boutique lotions but my skin remained dry and I was seeing crows feet and wrinkle lines around my eyes. I was about to give up hope until my mother, who likes to shop at dollar stores(LOL), came to visit and bought me the Vitamin Enhance Moisturizer from Made from Earth. I have been using it ever since. I am now 34.
I am hesitant to even try another moisturizer cause I like this so well. On the occasions I do try other lotions, they never measure up.

My skin thanked me after the first application. After a few days, it looked better and LOOKED SO FRESH!. Within a month or two (or less, I don't remember after 4 years) I had no lines near my eyes, my skin feels soft and comfortable unless I abuse it. When I abuse it, this lotion makes it feel better. People consistently guess my age to be 5-8 years younger than I am.

I almost never need more than a tiny amount the size of a pencil eraser to cover my face, neck and hands. I use the Vitamin Moisturizer in the morning and an under eye cream at night. I recommend it to anyone looking for a facial moisturizer that works for anti-aging. Absolutely worth the money. The 2 oz bottle lasts me about 4 months and $70 for 4 months of beautiful skin is way worth it to me. . .
recommended for all ladies who are sick of trying the anti-aging treatments that dont work. .
