Hi, everyone!

I'm Sean Krebs and that’s me with Bryce and CJ on the beach in Montauk for our September fashion shoot.  Do I look happy?  That’s because I am!  Besides writing this monthly column, I am also Instinct’s new Fashion Director!

Hopefully you recognize Bryce and CJ from the “On Rugged Shores” layout in Instinct’s September issue.  If you don’t, then you better run out and get a copy fast!  (Or better yet, subscribe to Instinct right now by clicking here and never miss another issue!)  Bryce and CJ were real troopers that day.  You might think that we were somewhere in Ireland or off the coast of Maine with a cool, crisp breeze blowing – but in order to get those pictures into the magazine on time, we actually had to shoot them back in July on Long Island on one of the hottest days of the summer (it was well above 90 degrees!).

Hanging out with half-naked male models is definitely one of the major perks of the job.  Sitting in the front row at fashion shows is another (especially if it’s an underwear show!).  Plus I absolutely love clothes and I’m always excited to see new things before they’re in the stores (this month I’ll be previewing the spring 2009 collections even though we’ve only just begun fall 2008!).  That’s one of the things you’re going to see a lot of here — I’ll be bringing you all of the latest and greatest fashion, style and trend news each and every month.  On top of that, you’ll also find monthly giveaways from the brands you love (check out the FREE STUFF! section below — this month featuring Banana Republic).

Here’s a little more about my favorite subject other than fashion – that’d be me!  I grew up in small rural town in New Hampshire.  I had a crush on Brooke Shields (from her Calvin Klein ads) and my parents gave me my first subscription to Vogue when I was 10 years old (do you think they knew I was gay?).  I went to Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and received a degree in Fashion Design.  In school, I was always the one organizing the yearly fashion shows – scouting for the best models, picking out the venues, selecting the music and making sure that the fashion editors from the local newspapers attended.  At the time, I had no idea that what I was doing was actually a full-time job – a job as a fashion publicist.  So, when I finally came to New York in 1994, I started working in public relations.  Since then I’ve worked for many amazing brands including Fendi, Burberry, Missoni and Gap.  I’ve also appeared on The View (right next to Star Jones!) and Access Hollywood (talking about Britney Spears shopping at Gap on the day her divorce from K-Fed was finalized).  I’ve been quoted about style and trends in a few publications that you might have heard of — including The New York Times, People, Life & Style and InTouch (plus I’ve even been a boldface name in “Page Six” of The New York Post!).  My styling career began when a small idea that I pitched to a magazine turned into a 5-page fashion feature — after that, there was no stopping me!

If you want to know more about me (I have a dog named Ascot, my favorite color is white, my favorite movie is Two for the Road…), check out my Facebook profile .  And if you want to e-mail me (I’d love to hear from you!), you can at styleguyde@instinctmag.com.

Here’s to the beginning of a beautiful relationship!  See you next month!!

FREE STUFF!
I absolutely had to ask my good friends at Banana Republic to be the first free giveaway for you guys!  Of course, they said yes right away (you’ll soon figure out that nobody can say no to me!)!!

We’re going to make this first one easy, to win simply email us here and the first 10 entries with a valid email, home address and phone number will receive a 50mL bottle of Banana Republic’s Slate (which retails for $45)—there are only ten of them, so do it now! One winner per household, please!

Slate is a cool, clean blend of citrus, sage and ginger root.  And you’re going to love how the old-fashioned inkwell bottle filled with the licorice-colored juice (that’s an industry term) looks on top of your dresser or in your bathroom!

Banana Republic is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year – that’s 3 decades of accessible luxury!  Make sure to check out their newest collection at bananarepublic.com (I am completely obsessed with their cardigans and buy armfuls of new ones every season!).

Would it be possible to add a link to the clothes featured in your segment each issue? That would be really great thanks

thanks for not responding to my email! Guess you were too busy with getting all your friends to tell you what a great person you are. Or maybe you were just busy with your second favorite subject; yourself. Lame. PS thanks for NOT telling me where I could get that green MK sweater. Ethan

oh lord - let's boost this ego..if you're gonna post models, can you at least post some men with hair..after all, these are supposed to be men...not gaunt- chicken-little looking things. as for fashion sense, i question that considering most gay men don't even come close in terms of the body type that's depicted..maybe in CA..lol..
