Gus Kenworthy's Tribute to His Late Pup Beemo is Absolutely Heart-Wrenching

It's been a rough couple of months for Gus Kenworthy, as he tragically lost his rescue pup Beemo unexpectedly back in May from a birth defect. The decorated Olympian adopted her overseas in South Korea while he was competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 26-year-old has adopted another dog since, but the memory of Beemo continues to live on in his and millions of his fan's hearts. He posted a sweet tribute to her on his Instagram that coincided with a beautiful gift that one of his friends gave him as an early birthday present (he turns 27 on October 1st).

"I can't believe that it's been almost four months since my baby Beemo passed away. I think about her every single day," he said.

"My good friend @goodiepocket gave me the sweetest early birthday gift and he edited together a tribute video for Beemo from the hundreds of videos on my phone. I know a lot of you, whether you met her or not, loved Beemo very much and so I wanted to share the video with you all."

The 6-minute clip, called "Our Borrowed Time with Beemo," shows Gus and his longtime boyfriend Matt Wilkas' journey with their adorable pup that began with the moment they adopted her. It then transitions into all the cute moments they had with her that ends on a truly heartbreaking note.

Gus Kenworthy Adopted A New Dog And Named It In Memory Of His Late Puppy Beemo

Gus Kenworthy is a daddy yet again.

The US Olympian and openly gay athlete was devastated back in May when his puppy named Beemo, whom he had adopted after discovering her in South Korea, died of a birth defect.

While Beemo will always have a special place in Kenworthy's, and boyfriend Matt Wilkas’s, heart and no dog will ever replace her, Kenworthy has shares that he has healed enough to move on.

The athlete posted on Instagram that he has decided to adopt a new rescue dog named Birdie.

Kenworthy started off the post by recounting how he rescued Beemo from a dog meat farm. Coincidentally, he also witnessed the birth of a new litter on that same day. It turns out that Kenworthy stayed up-to-date on litter after Beemo’s death and later decided to adopt one of them.

“I began getting photo and video updates on them as I waited for another farm closure and an opportunity for them to be brought to the States. That finally happened and four days ago I picked this little girl up in DC. She's a 5-month-old Jindo/ Lab mix and we named her Birdie (because birds were one of Beemo's favorite things in the world).”

The day Matt and I visited the horrifying dog meat farm in South Korea we witnessed a mother dog giving birth to a litter of pups. The people at @hsiglobal told us that had they not been there filming my visit nobody would've seen the pups immediately and they likely would've died in the brutal cold. Luckily though I saw them and they were rushed inside and saved. A few weeks later when all 90 of the dogs on that farm (including Beemo) were flown to North America that mother and her newborn litter were the only ones that stayed behind because the pups were too young to travel. After Beemo passed away I was feeling completely empty and I reached back out to the Humane Society International to find out what happened to that litter. I found out that they were still in Korea and I began getting photo and video updates on them as I waited for another farm closure and an opportunity for them to be brought to the States. That finally happened and four days ago I picked this little girl up in DC. She's a 5-month-old Jindo/ Lab mix and we named her Birdie (because birds were one of Beemo's favorite things in the world). Nothing in the world could ever replace Beemo or the love that we felt and still feel for her but Birdie has already stolen a new place in our hearts and we're excited to be dog dads again. A HUGE thank you goes out to @hsiglobal for bringing our new baby home and for all they do for animals in need around the world (follow them and support their cause). Also an immense amount of gratitude goes to @awlaarlington for taking care of Birdie in DC until I could fly there to pick her up! I am going to continue Beemo's Instagram with pupdates on Birdie. I was nervous that would seem disrespectful to Beemo's memory but I actually LOVE the idea that both of my beautiful little girls will share the page. Also, a huge part of the reason I started Beemo's page in the first place was to continue promoting animal rescue and raise awareness for the dog meat trade and since the page already has a following I thought it'd be more impactful to keep it going rather than start all over again. Follow along! @b_pups #DogsAreFriendsNotFood #AdoptDontShop

Kenworthy also shared that he plans to continue capturing the life of his pup through the same Instagram account that he used for Beemo.

“I am going to continue Beemo's Instagram with pupdates on Birdie. I was nervous that would seem disrespectful to Beemo's memory but I actually LOVE the idea that both of my beautiful little girls will share the page.”

Congratulations to the happy family. We hope the happiness continues for many years to come.

Yum: Gus Kenworthy's 5 Hottest Instagram Pics

Gus Kenworthy has become one of our most favorite gay celebrities for many different reasons.

He's a decorated athlete, a hero to many, and has broke ground in our community several times like when he shared a historic kiss with his boyfriend Matt Wilkas.

Oh, and one other thing: he's fine. Like... really really fine (I've met him in person and can easily vouch for this). And his Instagram (which just passed one million likes recently) prove this thought point and then some.

That being said, let's take a look at what we think are his five hottest Instagram uploads of all time. A great way to end what was more than likely a very drab Monday.

Gus Kenworthy Heartbroken As Rescue Pup Beemo Unexpectedly Passes Away

Very sad news from out Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who has a history of rescuing dogs on his travels and famously saved his new pup, Beemo, from being killed in a dog meat farm in South Korea during the recent Winter Olympic Games.

Beemo apparently became less and less interested in her food this past week. When Gus and boyfriend Matt Wilkas took her to the veterinarian, it was discovered that "her lungs were deteriorated and that her heart was too big for her body - a birth defect we had no way of knowing about."

According to the silver medalist, vets said there was no way to know about the condition and she had been living on "borrowed time."

Both Gus and Matt shared the sad news via social media.

Two days ago my beautiful baby Beemo passed away. It was completely unexpected and Matt and I are beside ourselves trying to cope with her loss. For a week or so we'd been worrying because she was showing less and less interest in her food. There were several trips to the vet and on our final visit this past Thursday I asked them do a full body scan in case there was an underlying issue they had missed. Beemo went into a panic attack during the x-rays and her breathing became rapid and shallow. The scan revealed that her lungs were deteriorated and that her heart was too big for her body - a birth defect we had no way of knowing about. Unable to treat her there, I rushed her to the emergency vet where a breathing tube was put down her throat. They hoped that with a respirator breathing for her they could get her vitals back to a normal level so she could be treated but they were never able to do so. The past two days have been a blur. It all happened so fast that it's still hard to believe it. The ER doc told us that even if we'd somehow spotted the issue earlier it wouldn't have made a difference in the end. He said that she'd been living on "borrowed time" from the get go. Beemo was truly the best thing that ever happened to me and I feel so fortunate for our borrowed time together. I've never loved anything or anyone in the way that I loved that dog and she is and will always be deeply missed. She was so smart and playful. She brought so much happiness to so many people every single day. I'll always remember being out on a walk with her and every other second she would get stopped by someone wanting to pet her, kneel down and kiss her, hold her in their arms or take a photo and on many occasions a crowd of people would have formed around her. That was her power: she made people smile. She was the kindest, most gentle soul I've ever known. She loved people. She loved birds and the snow. She loved me and Matt. But most of all she loved meeting other dogs. If any of you have pets up in doggy heaven please tell them to go find Bee because she could really use a good play date right now. RIP sweet creature - your daddy loves you more than you could ever even know!

This is an incredibly sad post, I’m sorry... On Thursday @beemopup passed away. She had gotten sick about a week prior, stopped eating... the vets thought it was worms or possibly fussiness. When she wasn’t getting better we brought her to the vet again and they took x-rays that revealed her heart was too big. She was born with a heart defect we weren’t aware of. It was effecting all of her functions. We rushed her to the emergency room in an attempt to save her but there was nothing that could be done. The ER vets brought us down to be with her as she died. I can’t say I’ve ever experienced anything so heartbreaking. We pet her, we kissed her, we said our goodbyes and watched her take her last breaths. Many people who have never owned a dog might think to themselves “it’s just a dog”. But she wasn’t just a dog. She was our friend, she was our family, she was there in the morning when we woke up, she was so happy to see us every time we came home, and she loved us unconditionally. From the moment we met her on a dog meat farm in South Korea we knew how special she was. She made a hundred people smile every day. Every walk we took her on was interrupted again and again by people wanting to meet her, pet her, kiss her. (If you are reading this and you met her, then you know what i mean). She loved people. She loved playing with other dogs. She loved birds. Even on her last walks, when she was at her most tired and weakest, she really just wanted to be a puppy and play. She changed peoples lives. She changed my life. She changed Gus’s life. And she brought attention to an important cause (PLEASE RESCUE A DOG! PLEASE DONATE TO @hsiglobal THEY ARE, IN ADDITION TO DOING SO MANY OTHER THINGS, SHUTTING DOWN THE MEAT FARM INDUSTRY IN SOUTH KOREA!) I feel so grateful and lucky to have known her even for a brief moment. And I don’t regret giving her a happy love-filled life only to be so heartbroken now. It was worth it. Goodbye Bee.

Beemo had become something of a social media phenom herself as Gus opened an Instagram account "for her" and she quickly gained over 134K followers. Gus posted the pic below with the quote, "The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. RIP Beemo - you were and always will be very loved!"

"Alone In The Game" shines a light on the stark reality of the big business of sports. It also exposes a culture of exclusion, bigotry and discrimination which keeps many LGBTQ athletes in the closet and living in silence.

Gus Kenworthy Follows Up Nightline Appearance With Stunning Swim Trunks Reveal

Gus Kenworthy has never been shy about showing off his amazing body on several different social media platforms, most notably his Instagram account which just passed one million followers recently.

The Olympic Bronze Medalist appeared on ABC's Nightline with his fellow Olympian friend Adam Rippon last night, doing a one-on-one.  They boys went at it and we watched!  Rippon, who's been called "America's sweetheart," spoke to "Nightline" special correspondent Gus Kenworthy about becoming the first openly gay U.S. athlete at the Winter Olympics.

Rippon gave himself that nickname?   Well if you don't love yourself...  or was it just confidence.  We all need a little more confidence.

Speaking of confidence.  Gus seemed pretty confident as he just posted a photo of him sporting nothing but a pair of H&M swim trunks as he playfully put one foot into his pool.

Users were quick to comment on his "VPL" of sorts, although it remains to be seen if that was really the case or just a situation of his trunks bunching up in a very odd place.  "...but that other leg is going the other way ...that's quite a turnout you're sporting!," one commenter said.  Giggity.

We're not sure if there is a protrusion against fabric or just some thirsty people's imagination.  You be the judge... pic below or the link is here

Kenworthy States Rippon Makes Him "Weak In The knees," Teases "Pornstars On Ice?"

Openly sexy Olympic jokesters Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy share their combined Insta cuteness almost as much as a Kardashian shares her Insta assets, and for his most recent post, Kenworthy provided some VERY suggestive options for a caption! Freeskiing legend Kenworthy and figure skating sensation Rippon were photographed while out on the ice together at a rink in Michigan, and Gus, overwhelmed with the caption possibilities with these two cuties in the frame, stated:

Couldn't decide on a caption, so here are four - pick your fav!

#1 (porn)Stars on Ice
#2 Blades of Glory-hole
#3 I'm not Nancy Kerrigan and he's not Tonya Harding but he does make me a lil weak in the knees...
#4 Ice Queens

I'll take... all of the above! Gus and Adam's Olympic-sized love for one another was one of the best things to come out of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, and we'll never get tired of seeing their friendship play out on Instagram.

Coincidentally, the second best thing to come out of the recent Olympics might just be the fact that many of the stars snubbed Trump's invitation to the White House this past Friday. The president opened his doors to all Olympic and Paralympic competitors, but, as CNN reports, Rippon, Kenworthy, Lindsey Vonn, and others opted out. Rippon stated:

I will not be going. I will not stand with people who discriminate against those that they perceive as different. In lieu of going to DC, I have donated to a few of my favorite causes.

Adorable, hilarious, talented, and not afraid to stand for their beliefs. These guys will always be my favorite (porn)Stars on Ice!

Gus Kenworthy Wants to Overnight Zac Efron Something Interesting

It's not even the holiday season, and Gus Kenworthy is already in the gift giving mood, especially when it comes to his fond liking for The Greatest Showman star Zac Efron.

Gus, who is an Olympic medalist in freestyle skiing, could easily double down as a comedian based on how hilarious his Twitter has been lately (he would "die happy" choking on this as an example.)   His other tweet about the handsome and talented actor should be considered funny, but then again, you be the judge.

A story came out on Towleroad about how a man claimed that the painkiller called Lyrica turned him gay (sure, girl).  This gave Gus the great opportunity to want to overnight this product to Zac, in hopes that it has the same effect on him.

Of course he's kidding, as a painkiller or any sort of medication can't make you gay, but the hilarity in it wasn't lost on anyone.  Case in point:

Gus Kenworthy Says He Would Die Happy 'Choking to Death' on This

Oh Gus Kenworthy, your naughtiness knows no end!

This past year alone, he has offered Ricky Martin and his partner Jwan Yosef a chance to make up for a "missed connection" as well as passionately making out with his boyfriend Matt Wilkas and fellow Olympian Adam Rippon all over the world.  But what, in particular, would make his death full of sheer happiness if he was able to "choke to death" on it?

Get your mind out of the gutter folks!  Turns out, it's a delicious soft pretzel from Auntie Anne's that would make his death simply blissful if he accidentally choked to death on it.  Based on how yummy they are, we definitely couldn't agree more.

A particular type of produce (lettuce) was jealous of his love of the breaded deliciousness that is Auntie Anne's, and decided to see if he liked the crunchy green veggie as well.

His response definitely got the lettuce all wilted up:

By the way, we weren't the only one to think dirty thoughts when it came to his original tweet.  See below:

Gus Kenworthy Shows Off His Assets in New Photo Shoot

At this point in the game, we've pretty much seen a lot of Gus Kenworthy when it comes to his amazing physique, but is it getting to a point where its a bit much?

We think not, as the handsome Olympian has been one of our more popular guys to feature on Instinct Magazine, as he goes beyond the aesthetic with his charitable causes and all around good persona.

Now, he's given us another good reason to keep clicking on his absurdly hot photos, as he recently posed for GayTimes Magazine in next to nothing, which showcases his front and back beautifully.  10's, 10's, 10's in our book, as RuPaul would say.
