The ACLU wants to be sure viewers have the opportunity next season! The group’s advocacy arm, ACLU Action, has launched a campaign—complete with a website—to urge Modern Family producers to make it legal for the hit show’s gay couple, Mitch and Cam. 

Of course the show does take place in California, where same-sex marriage is still illegal, but I guess we suspended reality enough to believe Mariah actually sang on Idol last night, so why not here, right?

ABC News producer Don Ennis has bravely come out as transgender and has officially--and legally--become Dawn Stacey Ennis. 

She says: “Today I begin anew. Please understand: This is not a game of dress-up, or make-believe. It is my affirmation of who I now am and what I must do to be happy, in response to a soul-crushing secret that my wife and I have been dealing with for more than seven years, mostly in secret.”

We've been hearing about Jennifer Lopez's new ABC Family series, The Fosters--which centers around a lesbian couple raising a foster family--for a while, but now we're finally hearing from the lady herself! 

In an interview with Extra, J.Lo talks about the show, why she came on board, and why it's important to represent these families on television after the jump.

We've had our good eye on The Fosters, an ABC Family drama produced by Jennifer Lopez, for quite some time. Mostly because it features a lesbian couple raising children at the center of the show, but also a little bit because of a gorgeous co-star seen throughout the first trailer. 

As we get closer to the premiere date and even more action from One Million Moms, ABC Family brings us a second trailer that reveals a little more of what we can expect from the LGBT-heavy show. 

A new poll from ABC News/The Washington Post reveals a dramatic rise in support of same-sex marriage in the United States.
