He might be streamlining the state for marriage equality in spring, but New York Governor Andrew Cuomo isn't ingratiating himself with all LGBT groups in the state. According to Carl Sicilliano, founder of the invaluable Ali Forney Center, Gov. Cuomo is set to cut all funding for homeless youth in the state. Unfortunately, New York City has the highest population of LGBT homeless youth in the country--unsettling data that makes the threat all the more serious.
Follow the jump to find out what Sicilliano has to say and how you can help.

We want marriage equality to pass in the Maryland House of Delegates tomorrow. But not everyone feels the same way. Maryland Catholics for Equality is reporting that out-of-state calls are flooding the Statehouse's phone lines to voice bigoted pleas for inequality.
So, listen up: If you're a fabulous Marylander, give Annapolis a call to let your reps know that you're a constituent and that you'd like them to vote in favor of marriage equality on Friday.

Be sure to provide your address so the office knows you're a resident!

Watch the video, read his letter, then head to Courage Campaign's website to sign a petition asking the Ninth Circuit Court to lift the stay.
Dear Courage Campaigner,
Yesterday I found out the California Supreme Court denied a motion to speed up the Prop 8 trial. They're going to take their summer recess and come back in around 6 months or so. It must be nice for them.
Thing is, I am 78 years old, and I have Alzheimer's disease. I have been with my partner, Derence, for over 40 years. And if the courts drag this out for months and months, I fear... FULL STORY

In response to Speaker John Boehner's immediate, terse criticism of the Obama Administration's DOMA move, Get Equal has issued a national petition asking the Speaker of the House to focus on job creation, rather than discrimination.
Reads Get Equal's petition:
Yesterday, Attorney General Eric Holder told Speaker of the House John Boehner that the Department of Justice would no longer defend the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in court cases, maintaining that the 1996 legislation is unconstitutional.
Now it is up to Speaker Boehner, and members of the House, to decide whether to spend taxpayer resources to defend DOMA or focus on the real issues plaguing our country such as foreclosures, health care, unemployment,... FULL STORY

Sure, Matt Zarley was People Magazine's first openly-gay "Most Eligible Bachelor," but he's easy on the ears, too. He rose the Billboard Club Charts with a focus on the dance genre, but in an effort to raise money for (and awareness of) the incredible Trevor Project, Matt turns it down a few notches to cover Pat Benatar's classic 80s hit "We Belong."
"I assume that the song (when Pat Benatar recorded it) was a love song," says Matt. "I hear the song as an anthem of unity. I think that regardless of your orientation or viewpoint, we are all of the same earth... FULL STORY

Schools across the nation have started observing 'No Name-Calling Week' today, an initiative launched by GLSEN to address the anti-gay bullying issues and homophobia afflicting LGBT youth.
From a press release:
“We are proud to support the work of thousands of educators and students who are using No Name-Calling Week to bring a message of respect to their schools,” GLSEN Executive Director Eliza Byard said. “One of the wonderful lessons from No Name-Calling Week is that we can empower students to work together to improve school climate for all students.
