A 17-year-old self-proclaimed white supremacist from Alabama was arrested after a Russell County High School teacher found a journal that included plans to murder six students and one teacher with homemade grenades.

Six of the seven individuals were black. The one white individual on the list was presumed to be gay.

Horrifying pictures of a hospitalized Mallory Owens have been spread around Facebook as much as that copyright statement this week, along with a petition urging Mobile County, Alabama prosecutors to charge her attack as a hate crime. But now that she's well enough to speak to the press, Mallory herself is making some shocking claims about the Thanksgiving dinner assault she faced at the hands of her girlfriend's brother.

A group of high school students from Spanish Fort, Alabama apparently didn't get the memo that the rest of the world has moved on from "that's gay" jokes. During a state championship title against Daphne that was broadcast on national television, the students raised a banner attacking their opponents' team color. "Purple? Man, that's gay." 

The athletes from Daphne were probably shaking in their boots after reading that clever zing, right?

Though the summer hit movie Bruno stirred a mix reaction in the GLBT community, a few minutes of bliss occurred in a scene with ex-gay sympathizer and pastor Jody Trautwein. The pastor, with an unbreakable smile, attempted to persuade Sacha Baron Cohen's gay character to join team hetero, adding that if the Austrian fashion reporter allowed Jesus to come into his heart, he'd see the right path. Bruno immediately thought the once-director of the Alabama Coalition Against Same Sex Marriage was hitting on him.

Now, the lucky citizens of Birmingham (+sarcasm+) have a chance to make Trautwein their mayor! The unwilling movie star has tossed his name into next week's mayoral election, an election necessary to replace an even less tolerant...
