Last week we learned that the final line from the late and beloved Alexander McQueen will still be shown at the London and Paris fashion weeks. Today we get a sneak peek inside the punk-inspired/skin-head 80s look that McQueen had planned to revitalize.

Parent company of the Alexander McQueen label PPR SA has announced not only that his Paris fashion week show is still on, but that the McQueen brand will continue to produce the avant-garde garments made famous by the late designer.

The AP reports:

Robert Polet, who heads the group, said he spoke with McQueen a few weeks ago when the two men decided that "we have transitioned from being the name of a designer to putting in place the building blocks of a brand."

"That means that will be my legacy," McQueen had said, according to Polet. "That's something I will always leave behind."

The Gucci group will use its combined resources to ensure the label continues, he said.

"Lee is of course irreplaceable," Polet said, referring to McQueen's...

Lady Gaga walked away with a few Brit Awards (the UK Grammys) last night, including Best International Female Artist, International Album and International Breakthrough Act, but it's once again her striking performance -- this one dedicated to late designer Alexander McQueen -- that might be most memorable.

Update:

McQueen’s secondary fashion line, McQ, was to have a showing today at New York Fashion Week, but that show was quickly canceled upon news of his death. Reactions from the fashion world and those that knew McQueen have begun to come in.

Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue said, "We are devastated to learn of the death of Alexander McQueen, one of the greatest talents of his generation. He brought a uniquely British sense of daring and aesthetic fearlessness to the global stage of fashion. In such a short career, Alexander McQueen's influence was astonishing—from street style to music culture and the world's museums. His passing marks an insurmountable loss."
