We like a happy ending! No, not that kind. Okay, that kind, too. Our friends at GLAAD tell us the calendar is no longer available on Barnes & Noble's website, and a spokesperson for the company told GLAAD that it was never available in stores.

Joe King, the well-known cartoonist selling a shockingly tasteless 2012 calendar with the help of retailers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble, has responded to criticisms of the product by calling himself a victim of bullying and saying that AIDS is an "elective disease." Just in time for National Coming Out Day comes the re-edited and paperback version of Youth In Crisis: What Everyone Should Know About Growing Up Gay (Formerly titled Crisis: 40 Stories Revealing The Personal, Social, And Religious Pain And Trauma Of Growing Up Gay In America)  

Youth In Crisis which came out in 2008 was the "It Gets Better" before the "It Gets Better" project. The book tells the stories of 40 LGBT people, from public personas like Nate Berkus, Richard Chamberlin, Tammy Baldwin, Martina Navratilova, Bishop Gene Robinson and Barney Frank to leaders in the community and youth.
