United Colors of Beneton's inclusive principles has long been an overused punchline, but we're glad to see the jokes haven't deterred the iconic fashion house from pioneering acceptance in the fashion world.

So, a big round of applause goes to the United Colors of Beneton for giving a major role to Brazilian/Italian trans model Lea T in the label's s/s 2013 campaign. Check out Lea's first inspirational promo video as a brand ambassador for Beneton after the break.

Two great news items out of the American government this week –

1.) President Obama nominates openly-gay lawyer for the America’s ambassadorship to New Zealand and Samoa! The Senate will have to confirm David Huebner’s nomination before the appointee can serve.

2.) The U.S. Administration on Aging has awarded an unprecedented federal grant to GLBT aging services at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center. “This first-of-its-kind federal grant will help us significantly increase the vital services the Center offers to LGBT seniors who are often isolated and may lack the resources they need to make ends meet,” said Lorri L. Jean, chief executive of the Center.
