Don't get me wrong – last week’s episode of Mad Men featuring some gay-on-gay screen time – at last! – was worth waiting two seasons, but it was the flashing of an AMC warning ahead of the episode that has left a lingering aftertaste.
Gawker has pointed out that last week's boxer-short exploration earned the episode a “mature audiences” rating from AMC, a first for the show. Speculation ensued, with most assuming AMC would give the new annoying warning prior to the start of each and every episode this season. But last night one thing was missing (two if you count the absence of another hot gay scene): the MA warning.
So then it seems that alluding to gay sex is for mature audiences only, while rape, hetero sex, explicit drug...
