In support of marriage equality's chances in France, American Apparel has decided to give away 10,000 of its popular Legalize Gay t-shirts in stores as well as on the streets of Paris. Details follow. 

Yikes. American Apparel CEO Dov Charney has been accused of allegedly choking an employee, attacking him with gay slurs, and throwing dirt in his face.

For the first time, American Apparel, a gay friendly company already, has hired on a transgender model to be the face of a new national campaign. Isis King, former America's Next Top Model, will be seen by millions in ads that appear in pixel and print for AA's "Gay is O.K." campaign!

Two co-eds at the University of Wisconsin were attacked in late September after homophobic men taunted one of the girls for wearing American Apparel's ubiquitous "Legalize Gay" t-shirt. The girls are OK and have even used the deplorable circumstances to launch a dialogue on campus about hate crimes and anti-guy sentiment, but American Apparel, on the other hipster hand, is using the situation to sell more t-shirts. Sure, they sent 100 "Legalize Gay" shirts to the U. of Wisc. campus to spread the love, but the marketing ploy seems more exploitative than a sign of allegiance, right?

We don't care if every hipster in town dresses like they (or really does) work at American Apparel, it's to uncover any criticism of the LA-based apparel company, especially because it continues to pump out Prideful t-shirts (tasteful ones we can actually wear in front of mom).
