We're absolutely convinced that the television moment of our time has passed us by now that we can assume that no camera was present then Mariah Carey ALLEGEDLY found out that American Idol producers were considering replacing her with Jennifer Lopez midway through the season.

We CAN'T. To say that J.Lo and Mariah had a tense relationship in the past--at least according to the media--is an understatement, so we can only imagine the hellstorm that this must have set off.

Academy-Award winning American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson thinks American Idol's fifteen minutes are up and that it's becoming junkyard reality TV, or so she says in so many words. 

Nicki Minaj stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote American Idol and Ellen wouldn't be Ellen if she didn't address the diva battle between Nicki and fellow judge, Mariah Carey. 

Interestingly Nicki manages to explain herself in a way that's almost, dare we say it, charming? And she manages to throw some subtle shade Mariah's way while masking it in kindness. 

American Idol could be interesting indeed.

The 455th season of American Idol debuts next week so of course its time to pimp out the catfight (however authentic or marketing-department orchestrated it is) between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. The elder diva, Mimi, sat down with Barbara Walters on Nightline this week to discuss the feud and immediately won the entire fiasco, hands down, ankles up, with a simple eye-roll and sassy line delivered with perfection.

Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to calm Mariah down and send her to that soothing place filled with butterflies and lambs that she drifts off to every now and again. 

So, what does Nicki have to say after hearing that Mariah has added extra security and is in fear of her life?

American Idol producers knew exactly what they were doing when they decided to mix a potent cocktail (our favorite kind!) by hiring certified DIVA Mariah Carey and outspoken Queens-born Nicki Minaj as judges. On the same panel. At the same time. It's like trying to mix olive oil and water. Or, if you'd like an example using items from Mariah Carey's celebrity rider, it's like mixing rose petal bath water at exactly 102 degrees and a case of Cristal champagne with a side box of bendy straws; it just doesn't work. 

The grade school experiment was shown off at a recent American Idol audition after the two judges disagreed about a contestant's abilities which lead Nicki Minaj to reportedly threaten to "knock out" Mariah. 

Rumors were flying last month that controversial pop/hip-hop diva, Nicki Minaj would be joining the American Idol judging panel, and this morning Fox gave the world official confirmation. 

And that's not all! Country-crooner (and hubs to Nicole Kidman) Keith Urban has also signed on as a judge!
