Bryant Huddleston, a successful Los Angeles television producer, was scheduled to give a commencement speech at Sloan-Hendrix High School in Imboden, Arkansas where he is an alum.

Well that invitation's been rescinded. Why?

Seems the president of an Arkansas university has mixed up the meanings of degrading and offensive. Or he's just a hypocrite. For whichever of these reasons, Harding University President Dr. Burks, fresh off a week of cutting off the website and printing press of his school's first LGBT publication for students has spoken about his decision. A Facebook page asking an Arkansas school district to fire an official has reached 17,000 supporters. Clint McCance, a school board member in Independence County, Arkansas, is under fire this week for a horrifically anti-gay Facebook statement he posted regarding last week's Spirit Day, reading, “Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers committed suicide. We are honoring the fact that they sinned and killed therselves because of their sin. REALLY PEOPLE.” [sic, and from an education professional, keep in mind!]
