Indiana lawmakers have decided that they will not put the question of whether or not to institute a state constitutional ban on the legal recognition of same-sex couples to voters via referendum this year.

Could it be because social conservatives are afraid that they'll lose?

Just as we were ready to lay our pretty heads to bed, we got several e-mail tips that marriage equality had passed in Washington state. But we can't call it just yet. We're waiting on confirmation.
