Democratic candidate for Texas' Attorney General Barbara Ann Radnofsky sees the state's over-arching ban on marriage equality as affecting more than just its GLBT population. “This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.” she said yesterday. “I believe the clear language of (Subsection) B bans all marriages, and this is indeed a huge mistake. You don’t have to have a fancy law degree to read this and understand what it plainly says.”

Whether or not others interpret the archaic and very un-American ban in the same light has yet to unravel, but Radnofsky's fear that it's vague language might inspire future (and unnecessary) court cases regarding...
