Minnesota Viking Chis Kluwe has once again typed off a letter so brilliant, so sassy, so educational that we might have to take yet another lunch break to try and calm down from all the swooning. This time the unlucky target on the other side of Chris's acerbic tongue is Archbishop Nienstedt of St. Paul/Minneapolis, who soaked up headlines earlier this week for telling a Catholic mother she would go to hell if she chose to love her gay son.

“We have to call it for what it is – it’s bullying behavior. It’s not the work of Jesus Christ." -- Father Michael Tegeder on the anti-gay DVDs mailed to Catholics in Minnesota.


It was only last month when leaders of the Catholic church in Minnesota mailed 400,000 anti-gay, anti-equality DVDs to parishioners, a plot to frighten them into church-sanctioned bigotry. While the backlash was immediately noticable, it might have reached fever pitch this week.

First, over the weekend Father Michael Tegeder penned a story published in the Minnesota Star Tribune blasting MN Archbishop John Nienstedt for the fallacies in the DVD.
