Some gay/arthouse enthusiasts pray at the altar of Gus Van Sant; we prefer to bow before Baz Luhrmann. After all, it was Baz who single-handedly reinvigorated the movie musical all the way from Oz. Though it reveals our age to say it, we caught notice of Baz's style thanks to Strictly Ballroom but fell in love with it (and Leo!) in Romeo & Juliet and rekindled our affair later with Moulin Rouge.
