Ahead of next month's expected vote on allowing gay troops (but not gay leaders/adults) to serve in the Boy Scouts of America, the Mormon Church has released a statement in support of ending discrimination. 

Doctoring photos is a time-honored tradition of the anti-gay movement, and one that hate group the Family Research Council celebrated this week in a video encouraging the Boy Scouts to continue discriminating against gays.

Ahead of a much-awaited vote next month, a spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America has told Reuters that the organization is set to end its ban on gay troops.

The parents of eight-year-old Cub Scout, Frank, sent The Huffington Post the adorable letter he wrote to the Boy Scouts of America asking them to lift their ban on gay scouts and leaders.

Sample sentence: "Scouts are supost to stand up for pepel so why dont you stand up for gay pepel?" We DIE.

The Boy Scouts of America have released an official statement on board members' decision to delay their vote on the archaic gay ban until May of this year. Check out what the BSA has to say after the jump. 

With the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) potentially ending its ban on gay Scouts and Scout leaders, you'd think that'd be cause for at least a cautious celebration, right?? 

Not so fast. The policy that may replace the nationwide ban is giving the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) pause.

The proposed new policy would give sponsoring organizations permission to institute their own bans on gay Scouts and troop leaders at the local level.
