Carly Rae Jepsen has put her affinity and allegiance to the LGBT community ahead of performing for the anti-gay Boy Scouts of America.

As hoped—and following Train's lead from earlier this week—the Canadian "Call Me Maybe" singer has backed out of a scheduled performance at the Boy Scouts of America's 2013 Jamboree.

The parents of eight-year-old Cub Scout, Frank, sent The Huffington Post the adorable letter he wrote to the Boy Scouts of America asking them to lift their ban on gay scouts and leaders.

Sample sentence: "Scouts are supost to stand up for pepel so why dont you stand up for gay pepel?" We DIE.

With the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) potentially ending its ban on gay Scouts and Scout leaders, you'd think that'd be cause for at least a cautious celebration, right?? 

Not so fast. The policy that may replace the nationwide ban is giving the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) pause.

The proposed new policy would give sponsoring organizations permission to institute their own bans on gay Scouts and troop leaders at the local level.
