Facing huge controversy in the wake of embattled Army Specialist Bradley Manning being named Grand Marshal of San Francisco Pride, the organization's president Lisa L. Williams has issued a statement claiming that Manning's nomination was a "mistake" and that he was never actually named Grand Marshal.

PFC Bradley Manning, who has been behind bars for three years awaiting trial over leaking military docs to WikiLeaks, has been voted San Franscisco's 2014 Pride Grand Marshal.
