You've had some time to let the drag-stravaganza that is the music video for "Hold It Against Me" from Britney Spears to simmer, so now it's time to dish, dolls. Jonas Akerlund, the director of this video as well as Lady Gaga/Beyonce's "Telephone," pulled out all the tricks -- and tight corsets -- here to make Miss Britney shine. So, Instincters, are you feeling it or will you hold this music video against Britney Spears?

Move over 12 gays of Christmas and Keith Olbermann (oh wait...), we have a new favorite countdown: The 14 days until Britney's "Hold It Against Me" music video premieres! Our Lady of Cheetos just announced the countdown on Twitter, and revealed that a super-short teaser video will be published on YouTube every day until it reaches fever pitch in two weeks when the full Jonas-Akerlund-directed music video for "HIAM" is released!

And man, the guys we send pics to on Grindr claim we're real good teases, but this inaugural video from Britney puts even our teasing skills to shame, so don't set your hopes too high...

We know that we all like rimming our morning-time margaritas with huge grains of salt, but lets add an extra dash to go along with this story, however believable it actually sounds.

TMZ is reporting that momma Britney Spears's special diet of Cheeto's, McDonald's and trenti-sized iced mochas has left her dance-forged body less than nimble on the set of the music video for "Hold It Against Me." Supposedly the bitch can't keep up with the assigned choreography, so the record label has hired a body double to film Brit Brit's fancy legwork.

"Multiple sources on the music video set tell TMZ, Jonas Akerlund, the director, was upset that Britney hadn't practiced enough...

It's no secret that this blog is a huge fan of Ryan James Yezak's music video "parodies" (though a better word might be "re-imaginations"). For his latest, RJY once again jumps the shark by releasing his version of a music video before the actual artist's premieres (think Peacock). Breathing silver-spray-painted life into "Hold It Against Me," (Britney's chart-destroying dubstep single), RJY adds some new elements...

Last week it was reported that director-of-the-moment Jonas Akerlund (Lady Gaga's "Telephone") would be the man responsible to bring Britney's No. 1 smash "Hold It Against Me" to life in video form. Well, according to Britney's publicist (a.k.a Twitter), shooting started yesterday and the video will be her best yet.

"Day 1 of the HIAM shoot with Jonas. Such an incredible experience. I think this will be one of the best videos I have ever done. -Brit"

Today, for the second day of shooting, Britney tweeted a sneak peek of the video, as seen above.

What I've been getting from word-of-mouth reports out and about (even from Britney die-hards) is that most in the gay community are disappointed with "Hold It Against Me." So for ...

Proof that you can have a bad weave and still rule the world...

Britney's new song, "Hold It Against Me," is apparently #1 in every country with Internet access. I'm still holding it against her for not putting out a better first track, though...

Choreographer of the moment Laurieann Gibson confirmed via Twitter that Lady Gaga will indeed perform at the upcoming 53rd Grammy Awards on February 13. All signs point to a performance of "Born This Way," the lead single from the eponymous new album, which Gibson calls "soulful and epic."

Earlier in the week it was speculated that Britney Spears would also perform on the awards broadcast which a few in her clique have since denied. However, when it comes to Britney and awards shows, it's always left up until the very last minute and fans are holding out hope that the rumors prove true.

We don't like being called teases because we actually follow through with whatever falls from between our lips. But last week when we provided the non-Britney demo of "Hold It Against Me," we put our reputations on the line and risked being labeled that awful "t" word. Today, with the official finalized version Britney Spears's new single "Hold It Against Me," we hopefully regain our street-cred and once again are known as the gays who put their mouths where their money is.

Our thoughts? It's definitely a peak-hour club banger that's fueled on Four Loko and Cheetos. While it doesn't mark much of a change of sound for Brit Brit, "Hold It Against Me" does indicate that she's evolving right along with pop/hip-hop to arrive at a dance floor...

...and no, we're not referring to the inevitable YouTube parody cover video from the California Gays. Give that another week.

Yesterday, the demo for "Hold It Against Me," Britney's first single (which will be released on Tuesday, January 11) from her upcoming album, leaked to the web. Today the cover art for the single has dropped (that's the technical term, right?), depicting Brit Brit as a coy girl who just wants to grow up to be like Kim Zolciak.

A demo track (hence with scratch vocals from someone who isn't Britney) of "Hold It Against Me," the lead single from Miss Spears's forthcoming new album, has leaked. Many trusted sources (including Popjustice) confirm that this is the official demo track for the single, but the final product is, of course, expected to sound a bit different.

Still, sounds like Brit's going with the flow and turning to a harder dance-floor sound.

Heart it or hate it, Instincters?

Britney Spears has tapped much in her life (hardy, har), but no tapping quite as ambitious as her just-announced plans to utilize her Facebook fanbase to release her new single, "Hold It Against Me." Instead of solidifying a release date for the song, Brit's record label will keep it under wraps until 2 million people ask for it on Facebook using a unique Britney widget that could be made available as early as Monday, January 10. My guess is that getting 2 million Facebook fans to spread the request around will only take a few hours at most, meaning we could be listening to new Britney in a matter of days! Stay tuned to Instinct online for more news and the Facebook widget as soon as it arrives.

In other Britney news, MTV asked thousands...

A master of media manipulation if anything else, over the holiday weekend Lady Gaga released a butt-load of new Born This Way details, including a scandalous promotional picture that is as heavy on airbrushing as it is on unicorns.

Along with the sneak peek at Our Lady of Gaga's backside came word that her new album will be released on May 23, with its lead single premiering February 13. With Britney's lead single expected later this month and new album a few months away, who do you think will win over gays this year? A revamped Brit Brit or "the greatest album of a generation" from Lady Gaga?
