Adam Lambert has joined the "It Gets Better" campaign to lend a helping, nail-polish-covered hand to GLBT youth.

“Even I get bullied. You look under any comment section on any article, and there's bullies in there telling me that I'm a faggot, that I'm ugly, that I'm gross – 'Ew, gross, nasty, he's a girly' – all this crap. I'm singled out and it's all 'gay, gay, gay, gay, gay,' even though there is so much more to me than just who I choose to sleep with.”

We were one of the first to bring you the sad story out of Long Island of a 14-year old student assaulted on a bus for being perceived as gay while two accompanying adults did nothing. Today, a fourth suspect in the horrendous crime has been arrested.

From NY's WPIX:

Police say a fourth teenager has been arrested on Friday in connection to the beating of a 14-year-old classmate that was fueled with anti-gay remarks.

The unidentified 14-year-old boy from Elmont was arrested just after midnight and charged with third-degree assault as a hate crime and second-degree aggravated harrassment.

Three other Long Island high school students were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly stomped and kicked their classmate, referencing his sexual...

Filed under "things we already knew" is the ever-entertaining lunacy of Bryan Fischer. The latest fodder for the evidence locker is a new video of the American "Family" Associations leading tool claiming that gays are to blame for bullying and suicides. His logic? We don’t sit back, shut up and take the vilifying harassment from archaic, near-death windbags like him.

Warning: keep your blood pressure meds or yoga mat close after clicking play to hear this delusional diatribe.

Three Long Island teenagers have been arrested for assaulting and bullying a gay student because of his sexual orientation. Almost as horrifying as the inexcusable violence is the fact that there were two adults on the bus where the repeated incidents took place who did not report the assault to authorities. Absolutely disgusting.

From NBC New York:

At their arraignment today Spencer and Morrison were charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and second-degree aggravated harassment, a felony. Wilson was charged with third-degree assault, police said.

The teens allegedly slapped and kicked the boy on Tuesday, Oct. 12, and then also harassed him on the bus ride on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Cops said there were two adults on the ...

Elton John spoke with USA Today about the recent spate of teen suicides.

Said Sir John, "We've come so far, with a black president, it's mystifying that this can still be going on," John says. "Jesus Christ taught tolerance. That's the example we should follow. We should forgive, understand, be compassionate. We're not all the same. Thank God! It would be so boring."

In fact, Elton says, he performed at Rush's wedding earlier this year to prevent gay teen isolation and to open a dialog, not for the $1 million dollar paycheck.

"We talked a lot before I did it, and I was surprised how much I liked (him). If I had done it just for the money, I could have seen 40 years of my reputation go down the tube. As a gay man, I felt it my duty...

Perez Hilton, who made a name for himself by drawing offensive words and images over pictures of celebrities, appeared on Ellen today to announce to the world that he will no longer be a bully. Is he being genuine or exploiting one of the GLBT community's most tragic realities for some press?

Celebrity contributions to the "It Gets Better" project are invaluable assets to the community and surely speak to gay youth on an unprecedented level, but when it comes down to the real meat and intention of Dan Savage's initiative, Joel Burns, a Fort Worth City Councilman, might be the first to capture the emotional urgency of the larger situation at hand.

Burns made history when he became the first-openly gay candidate elected in Tarrant County, and now, as he speaks through a tear-streaked face about enduring relentless bullying in high school, his courage will help to save lives.

Watch with a box of tissues within grabbing distance.

The Washington Post has earned some humanizing cred (a rare feat for the publication) today after publishing an op-ed piece by Sirdeaner Walker, the mother of 11-year old Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover. Carl took his life in 2009 after suffering for years at the hands of unyielding anti-gay bullies.

A snippet from Walker's piece, titled "Addressing anti-LGBT bullying: Something all Christians can support":

If schools perceive addressing anti-gay bullying as a controversial issue, then they'll continue the status quo of putting their heads in the sand and hoping the issue takes care of itself.

It won't. And we need to be clear on one thing - addressing anti-gay bullying is not a controversial issue. If you move through the smoke screen organizations...

Glee was all about partnerships this week, and while Santana and Brittany's surprise "warm lady kisses" bedtime scene was a fun diversion (I added shirtless Chord Overstreet to soften the Sapphic blow), my favorite duet of the night was easily the final friendship sparked between Rachel and Kurt. Matthew Morrison rumbled last week that Ryan Murphy was throwing a glbt-youth/anti-bullying message into an upcoming episode, and the final scene (including heartfelt locker talk that I would have given my soul to hear during high school) felt like a last minute homage to the recent media-coverage of the age-old topic.

You know mine, now show me yours! Which duet was your favorite on Glee last night?

A clever and poignant take on the "It Gets Better" campaign comes from a regretful bully (not sure if it's real or fake, but that's not the point) who lets other bullies know that it only gets worse...

Updated Sunday, October 10, 2:30 p.m. EST

Universal has quickly scrubbed the gay joke from The Dilemma's trailer. Here's the sanitized version.

Lady Gaga may be the 7th most powerful woman in the world, but our other beloved silver-haired lady Anderson Cooper has flexed his power muskles by affecting real change in the movie theatre. When Coopy (our nickname for him in our fantasies) appeared on Ellen this week to discuss anti-gay bullying he casually chastised a trailer for the new Vince Vaughn flick The Dilemma for the gay-unfriendly line: "Ladies and gentlemen, electric cars are so gay."

Thankfully, Hollywood-centric website Deadline is reporting that Universal Studios is doing the right thing and clearing up this glaring,...
