Former Green Bay Packer Leroy Butler caught our attention this week when a church he was scheduled to speak at reneged their offer following Butler's tweet of support to Jason Collins after Collins came out as gay.

Butler stopped by to chat with our fave Silver Fox, Anderson Cooper and explains how the church asked him to "pray for forgiveness" over the apparently sinful tweet. Seriously.

Watch after the jump. (And you totally should because what Butler has to say is awesome.)

Former and famous Green Bay Packer Leroy Butler has lost out on an $8,500 speaking gig for praising Jason Collins on Twitter. A church in Wisconsin pulled the plug on the contracted gig after noticing Butler congratulated Jason Collins for coming out of the closet, citing a morality clause.

How did the former footballer respond?

In the best way imaginable.

It's time to protect the children from the big scary gays!

William Bigelow at the Breitbart blog is pretty butt-hurt over the inclusion of a gay character in the new stop-motion animated zombie comedy, ParaNorman. Heaven forbid children be even casually aware of our existence.

We'll refrain from detailing the plot-twist till after the jump, so as not spoil it for you.

The Weinstein Company  (TWC) just gave the finger to the MPAA and we’re all about it! (Not that demure, classy gays like ourselves would ever dream of…yeah.)

By now you’ve all heard about the documentary Bully, which has garnered support from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres and both anti-bullying and LGBT advocates.

After months of haggling with the MPAA and an aggressive campaign that included a Change.org petition (helmed by former bullying victim Katy Butler) that was signed by nearly 500,000 people urging the MPAA to lower the documentary’s R-rating and allow the film to be shown in schools, the Weinstein Company has decided to release the film unrated.

More after the jump.

The rumors were put to rest over the weekend on SNL – 300 was definitely a gay movie. Sure, we didn’t need the confirmation, but we’ll accept any chance we can get to see Gerard Butler’s thighs while hearing him discuss being measured!

....turns ugly. See update below.

I thought I was still dreaming when I read this glorious news nugget this morning.

Seems JoeMyGod and others have uncovered an interview with Gerard Butler from 2004 that has the beefy 300 actor saying he’s not straight, that he’s dated both men and women. Hear the echo of smacks against keyboards? Yup, those are the dropped-jaws of thousands of gay workers across the country reading this revelation.

Updated:

Movieline is saying the supposedly revelatory interview with Gerard Butler was fabricated over the weekend. Poor Gerard, tossed around the fence like a hunky piece of meat. I had a feeling the salacious quotes were too good to be true...
