The "California Gays," who slayed with their lip-synched take on Katy Perry's "California Gurls," have gotten the Pop Up video treatment!

Who says fame can only last 15 minutes? The internet is forever, ya'll!

A worthwhile entry into the "California Gurls" parody collection comes from NYC's iconic drag superstar Lady Bunny. NSFW with skin, spunk and sordid scenes, which all make for a fun and irreverent viewing experience!

While a very lucky Instincter prepares to check out Miss Katy Perry live in New York City tomorrow night, Katy herself opened up about her collaboration with Snoop Dogg for "California Gurls," her answer to Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind."

"I bought (Snoop's hit song) Gin and Juice when I moved to Los Angeles, when I was finally allowed to buy CDs on my own.

"I was on Wikipedia looking up who's West Coast, who would be perfect to put on the song ...

California Gays (and their admirers) take note, Katy Perry has a cover to her highly anticipated new album, Teenage Dream. And instead of the usual Photoshopped pics of most of today's pop stars, Katy enlisted contemporary artist Will Cotton (I'm seeing a candy theme here...) to whip up a sugary—paint brushed—treat:

Will also was the artists director of the now hit video for "California Gurls," which further explains the candy obsession.

Teenage Dream is out on Aug. 24.

All is well in California again. After contacting YouTube yesterday about the age restriction imposed after viewer flagging, the "California Gays" parody has been restored to general viewing!

Now anyone, 18 or otherwise, can watch these boys melt some popsicles!

After a huge and successful launch last week, the parody video "California Gays" has been flagged as inappropriate by a user(s). Now, YouTube is requiring an 18-and-over sign-in account to view the vid. 

Why, you ask? Well, we don't really know either.

No nudity. No obscene scenes. Unless of course you count gays frolicking on the beach as obscene...

So fun, so California -- Katy Perry's "California Gurls" is my pic for summer dance floor anthem and today we have the premiere of the playful music video!
