With a bit of tongue in booty-cheek sass, the Charlotte LGBT Chorus tackled anti-gay conservative totems in a performance of "God Bless You Chick-Fil-A" at its holiday concert over the weekend. 

There are nights where you just know that you're at the wrong place. 

Last night was one of those nights. Why?

LGBT across the far reaches of the Internet are understandably fawning over First Lady Michelle Obama's empowering and tear-jerking opening night speech on Tuesday in Charlotte. But a few other LGBT-laced addresses are worth pixelated headlines, too.

Iowan activist Zach Wahls will kick his political career up yet another notch as a speaker at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night. Now, as an official opening act for President Obama's big headlining speech tomorrow night, is it too much to ask to see a Wahl's 2020 campaign??

It's convention fever! With the Republican National Convention convening this week in Tampa, attention is also turning to the Democratic National Convention, which will be hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 4-6.

Using North Carolina as the site of the DNC has caused some uproar in the wake of North Carolina's passage of Amendment 1, which banned gay marriage and civil unions in the state earlier this year. 

Still, some are arguing that hosting the DNC in North Carolina will highlight the problems faced by the LGBT-community.

The gay community will be represented by a record number of openly LGBT delegates at the Democratic National Convention. Just how many of us will substitute our rainbow flags for Obama banners on the floor of the convention in 10 days? 

Harvey Gantt and Richard Vinroot, two former mayors of Charlotte, have banded together to release a video opposing North Carolina's Amendment One. 

We previously highlighted the alarming homophobic tweets that came as a result of the Twitter trending topic #ToMyUnbornChild.

Those tweets definitely stuck with us (and had us really considering the merits of forced sterilization).

Tanner Bazemore, owner of Y2 Yoga, a Charlotte, N.C.-based studio, used the derogatory form of "gay" multiple times to announce snow closings in an email blast and Twitter messages that read like they were written by Willow Palin.

"Greetings! I know it sounds gay, but we are definitely less gay across the bored (sic) when compared to CMS, BOA, etc, etc. Mainly, I am being gay," read the email message, which was compounded with Tweets such as, "Closing completely because of some white stuff is being uber gay!"
