Homophobic wingnuts are up in arms today over word that Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson has filed a lawsuit against florist Barronelle Stutzman.

Stutzman made headlines earlier this year when she refused supplying floral arrangements for the wedding of a longtime gay customer due to her "relationship with Jesus." There are many problems with her refusal, most of which is it's contrary to Washington state's anti-discrimination laws. And now she faces a lawsuit and a $2,000 fine for her anti-gay bigotry.

There aren't many souls who would defend Pastor Charles Worley's call for the extermination of gays by way of electrified fence encampments, but the handful of lost sheeple who would should be studied by science. One head case who will be met by history with the same intense eye roll she defaults to in lieu of making a coherent argument was interviewed by Anderson Cooper on Wednesday night.  

Mississippi state Rep. Andy Gipson has forgotten about a little thing Americans have called "separation of church and state" by basically giving his constituents (a.k.a. his bosses) the middle finger. Instead of caring what his diverse constiuency thinks, Gipson announced via Facebook that the only "opinion" he will obey is God's. (Gipson's interpretation of the Christian God, in case you didn't get where we were going with this.)

Delegates representing the eight million members of the Methodist Church voted this week to uphold its condemnation of homosexuality, calling it "incompatible with Christian teachings"

With all the focus on the big-names getting into the fight for love and against North Carolina's Amendment One, human-size liver spot Billy Graham felt the need to inject his name into the debate via a saintly anti-gay ad appearing in 14 papers across the state this week. Today, we finally get a look at Graham's ad. 

Not only will masturbating kill a kitten, make baby jesus cry and rip an angel's wings off, it'll also force some scary Appalachian ice lady to throw on her lace doily hat and magenta coat from Salvation Army's couture collection and come out of her igloo for the first time since Pizza Hut released its new cheeseburger pizza. Or something, according to this accidentally hilarious Blair Witch-style anti-fapping/anti-porn flick from a fundamentalist Christian group looking for funds via Kickstarter.

TV megachurch pastor Joel Osteen reiterated his belief that gays are sinners during an appearance on Fox News yesterday with Chris Wallace. But, hey, he thinks we're some of the "nicest people in the world," so there's that! Thanks for throwing us a bone, Joel!

With petitions, protest and criticism converging in a storm of bad press, the Nebraska Cornhuskers' notoriously anti-gay assistant coach Ron Brown has offered to become a martyr. 

It took less than a day, but the unreasonable reaction from the religious right to yesterday’s passage of hate crimes protection legislation is off and running. Labeling the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act as anti-Christian and pro-pedophile really takes some creativity.

World Net Daily, in an article titled “Congress Passes ‘Pedophile Protection Act,’” argues that the legislation will allow law enforcement to “crack down on Christian speech, even reading of the Bible.”

Also fast to spin the historic act was the always ethical American Family Association, which very quickly organized a call to action, asking its sheeple to send Congress a harshly-worded note filled with crazy drivel.
