The country's first openly-gay state House speaker, Rhode Island's Gordon Fox, is suffering a major firestorm of criticism after he copped out and sunk marriage equality legislation in his state, allowing instead for a separate-and-unequal civil unions bill to pass a House panel today. 

Brendon Ayanbadejo is not the only professional football star standing up for marriage equality; wide receiver Donte' Stallworth, Brandon's Baltimore Ravens teammate, has joined team equality in a series of pro-LGBT Tweets.
