Missouri's senior Senator Claire McCaskill became the latest national lawmaker to publicly announce support for marriage equality. In a blog post on her Tumblr page, Sen. McCaskill revealed that she can no longer "confront this uncomfortable inequality."

GLAAD handed out its annual Amplifier Awards honoring the best in LGBT advertising and PR Tuesday night. Though its year in advertising boasts a string of reasons it deserved the top honor last night, JC Penney's "First Pals" catalogue image featuring dads Cooper Smith Koch and Todd Koch and their kids Claire and Mason stood out.
The family sent in a video acceptance speech as they received the Outstanding LGBT Image in Mainstream Advertising award from GLAAD. Check it out after the jump!

Not once in the Miss America pageant's 90-year history has a contestant boasted a gay-rights platform. Until Miss New York Claire Buffie -- my new favorite New Yorker -- that is.
The 24-year old is set to make history when she takes her "Straight for Equality: Let's Talk" campaign to the 2011 Miss America stage.
"The reason I am such a vocal straight ally is because my older sister, Sarah, is gay, and I have a lot of gay friends and a gay roommate," Claire tells New York Daily News. "They're people that I care about so much and that I never want to see treated as second-class citizens."
