The Log Cabin Republicans are calling out the GOP on their anti-gay political stance in a new ad published today on Politico

Could the gay conservative group finally be growing tired of the second (or third) class status they're being given within their own party?

Check out the ad after the jump.

As Republicans convene this week to assess their party's arguably failing platform, social conservatives are threatening to jump ship if the party takes any steps in the direction towards equality.

Thirteen influential wingnuts (joined, of course, by hate group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council) penned a letter to the Republican National Committee telling them to affirm the party's 2012 platform, which supported a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and supported the Defense of Marriage Act, or face abandonment by their socially conservative base.

The Conservative Political Action Conference is about to get a little gayer.

Notably absent from the conference's schedule was any mention of LGBT equality (and gay groups like GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans weren't even invited to attend).

That's now changed. One of CPAC's sponsors, the Competitive Enterprise Institute will now be hosting a pro-gay rights panel.

Details after the jump.

Remember Canada?

It's been awhile since we've taken a history course, but if we dust off our middle school textbooks and flip through the pages once again we'll be reminded of the great civilization of Canada was wiped off the map because it allowed same-sex couples to enter into a legal civil contract together. "Worse than the A-bomb," the headlines read according to history books.

Except that NEVER happened. Someone should kindly inform lady's man of the moment Rep. Todd Akin, who believes that marriage equality destroys civilizations. Check out Rep. "Legitimate Rape" Akin's comments about the gays after the jump.

As if they weren't already perfect for each other based on their sheer 10 ratings alone, now the world is coming to learn that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are even more star-crossed because their parents are a bit backward.

Jon Voight, the one time famous actor who is now mostly known for being Angie's dad (and for random anti-Obama rants), appeared on Fox "News" to defend Jane Pitt's homophobic love letter to Mitt Romney.

So, what does Jon have to say about his future family member's disdain for the gays becoming public?
