With the U.S. Senate's immigration reform bill looming, Democratic New York Senator called a meeting with New York's leading elected gay officials and activists to discuss the inclusion of a pro-gay provision in the bill. 

The provision, which would protect binational same-sex couples from being separated by allowing foreign members to apply for green cards, has been presented as a make-or-break issue for the entire bill. 

Republicans have threatened to squash the bill if the provision is included.

The DOMA Project has done a brilliant job of highlighting the injustices many LGBT binational couples face in light of DOMA rules. This week they brought us the story of David and Jason, a binational couple who have been separated 17 times under DOMA rules—despite being legally married in New York.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has gone on record (well,on Twitter) saying that he will drop support of his own immigration reform bill if it includes provisions benefiting same-sex couples.

We reported the suspected untimely death of Wilfried Knight, a French-national adult film actor, on Monday as we awaited official confirmation of the tragic news. Unfortunately, by late Tuesday, both a confirmation of the news and a possible motive behind the suicide was brought to our attention. 

This is civil disobedience in action! Or at least the kind where we get some action. 

LGBT advocates are organizing a "kiss-in," set to take place at the Westfield Galleria in Roseville where 21-year-old Daniel Chesmore and his boyfriend, Jose Guzman, 24, were kicked out on Saturday for publicly kssing and holding hands.

Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano told the press pool today that her hands are tied by DOMA when it comes to binational same-sex couples.

The literate citizens of the world will have better chances of reading about gay and lesbian married couples that are presented in the same context as straight married folks thanks to a welcome reversal from the Associated Press Stylebook. 

The Associated Press Stylebook—basically the journalist's Bible—has implemented a few controversial LGBT-specific "clarifications" in the past five months that have left many in the community appalled. The latest update to its guidelines suggesting that journalists refrain from using "husband" and "wife" when referring to married same-sex couples has spurred at least one couple in California into action. 

We're seeing some forward movement in Germany with regards to gay couples being allowed to adopt children.

Another day, another poll finding increased support for same-sex marriage crossing party lines. 

Alaska's House Majority Caucus was asked whether they'd consider same-sex civil unions or domestic partnerships and they just found that HILARIOUS.

Seriously, they could barely respond to Juneau Empire reporter Mark Miller's question through their laughter.
