Elliot Morales, the accused suspect in the shooting death of 32-year-old gay male Mark Carson (pictured), has been charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime. 

Morales allegedly "laughed in hideous glee" as he confessed.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer publication decided to take the low road in its coverage of the local murder of transgender woman Cemia Acoff. Referring to Cemia as "oddly dressed" and "it" in its reporting, the Plain Dealer is being called out by GLAAD and other groups for its outrageous lack of professionalism.
