Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu, the rising conservative star who earlier this year made headlines for allegedly threatening to have his immigrant gay ex deported, has been cleared of all charges.

House Democrats are applying necessary pressure to the Obama administration to ensure that binational same-sex couples are protected from deportation.
As it stands now, a foreign same-sex partner of a US citizen has virtually no protection regarding whether they're forced to leave the country based on immigration laws.
House Reps, including Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats, want President Obama and his Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano to change that—in writing.

We previously reported on gay, legally married couple, Brian Willingham and Alfonso Garcia, as they fight to keep Garcia from being deported back to his native Mexico. The couple has no legal protections as a result of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
There’s now hopeful news. Today, a federal immigration court judge in San Francisco put Garcia’s deportation proceeding on hold.

It's nice to see the story of Bradford Wells and Anthony John Makk receiving mainstream news attention. Makk, an Australian-born man living in San Francisco and the primary caregiver for his husband who suffers from AIDS, faces deportation even though the pair obtained a legal marriage license in Massachusetts. MSNBC's Thomas Roberts interviewed the married couple today to discuss their battle against U.S. immigration and the "Defense of Marriage Act."
