The civil rights movement for marriage equality is often accused of wanting to change the definition of marriage. That's blatant hyperbole, but Mike Raven's new Change.org petition asking Dictionary.com to make its definition of marriage more gay friendly actually provides a legitimate instance of just that. 

It's interesting how Dictionary.com compares "transgender" literally with English's inability to cope with "ambiguity" and preference for a system of duality. Excerpts from the thought-provoking "Hot Word of the Day" post after the jump!
