The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has approved the the HIV Organ Policy Equity (HOPE) Act. The bipartisan bill would lift a federal ban on the donation of HIV-positive organs to HIV-positive recipients.

According to Blabbeando blog, Mexico has dissolved an archaic ban on gay blood donations and ushered in a new era for the Americas. Details follow.
