The archaic (and, ironically, anti-Christian) homophobia regularly spewed from the pulpit of Catholic leaders and Bishops hasn't only penetrated the gay media's radar, it's also finally registered on the pens of editors at the National Catholic Review

Openly Gay Athlete Voted High School Prom King

We love when life imitates art, but, in this case, it appears that art imitated life. A real life Glee moment happened at a high school prom this past weekend, and we got the heart-warming details to prove it!

Openly gay high school track athlete Craig Cassey was voted prom king this year, according to OutSports who tells of Craig’s dilemma of wanting to go to the prom with his boyfriend, Carl, but didn’t want to upset his mother. Craig decided to take a girl instead, but the real magic happens after the dance. Wow, sorry, that sounded completely inappropriate. Maybe we will just let Craig explain. Here is what he posted on his own blog, Craig’s Gay Word:...

In an op-ed titled "The Defense Of Marriage Act Blues" penned for Vanity Fair, buff rock star Henry Rollins gives Speaker John Boehner an eloquent earful on behalf American LGBT. We love you too, Henry!

"Of course same sex marriage is constitutional! The right to be yourself, to pursue life, liberty, and property, is protected several ways over several amendments. John Boehner should know this. If only he read the Constitution as often as some of us do, he wouldn’t have bothered to lower himself to this time-wasting, pathetic attempt to invigorate his base of supporters.

"Damn, congressman, we’re trying to get up the road here. Either lay out a plan for job creation for all of us to see or get out of the way. You are the Speaker of the...

With the proliferation of Grindr, other mobile dating/cruising apps and a more palatable mainstream appreciation for websites like Connexion and Manhunt, more gay men than ever are digitally dating. A key ingredient -- especially for gay men -- on any dating/cruising app or website is listing what one is into on his profile. As in the physical realm of gay bars and clubs, on their social profiles gay men often list the races they find themselves attracted or not attracted to.

But lately we've been noticing more than just the typical "I'm only into white or latin guys" comment on social networks and cruising apps; now, disgust with these preferences are creeping up all across the digital dating landscape, with a lot of folks calling...

I hate having to call out two gaydored public personas today, but I've got to say it: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is a hypocrite.

Despite her husband coming around to arrive at marriage support and despite the president revealing an "evolving position" on the issue, for some reason Sec. of State Hillary Clinton insists she's against marriage equality.

“Well, I share his experience because we obviously share a lot of the same friends, but I have not changed my position," Sec. Clinton said

As blood-boiling as her discriminatory position is, it's when she tries to paint herself as anti-discriminatory that the hypocrisy reaches epic proportions.

“I just really have a strong negative reaction to...

Last week we reported that figure skater Johnny Weir had finally spoken specifically about his sexuality and acknowledged that he is gay. Congrats, Johnny.

But in an interview on Tuesday afternoon with ESPN, Weir takes issue with gay blogs (full disclosure: InstinctMagazine.com is a gay blog, in case you didn't notice) that designated the story worthy of sharing. Some blogs chided him for making the announcement "too late," while I asked Instinct readers if they were "disappointed that he felt the need to make his coming out more palatable for mid-America by tempering it with the "I'll marry a woman" sentiment."

Here's what Johnny told ESPN:

"There were lots of gay websites that had an issue with me quote-unquote coming out and doing...

Lt. Dan Choi, who is easily the (gorgeous) face of the fight for DADT repeal, penned a poignant essay in honor of Veteran's Day on the Huffington Post. Speaking of the holiday, Instinct would like to extend a huuuuge thank you to all American troops, past and present, a token of our undying gratitude for your brave service.

A highlight of Lt. Choi's essay (which can be read in full here):

Since joining the ranks of gay veterans, I have publicly called this war a battle for equality, integrity, and many other powerful platitudes that resonate well throughout the airspace of a media war-zone. But at the heart of my struggle to end unjust discrimination in the military, these bold moral principles become mere words; the motivation to...

Academy Award winning writer Dustin Lance Black encounter with academic homophobia made headlines earlier this year, and today the filmmaker has decided to discuss it by penning an editorial in the Daily Beast.

You may recall that West Michigan's Christian Hope College had invited Black to the campus to screen the film that helped bring him to the Oscar stage, “Milk,” with a discussion on homosexuality to follow. Soon, the dean of Hope College had blatantly canceled the event, and went one step further by banning Black from the campus.

Though he labels the incident a "gay bashing" in the Daily Beast, he also reveals that a screening for students and faculty finally became reality, and that he got to share some face time with...

An article in Politico today arrived at the positive surmation that marriage equality is still inevitable. Ever the Grinch, National Organization for Marriage's Maggie Gallagher has taken to the interwebs to opine on why she thinks the opposite holds true. My favorite stops on Maggie's bullet points includes No. 3 and 4:

2. Young people are not as unanimous as most people think.

In California, the young-adults vote split 55 percent to 45 percent. Is it so hard to imagine 5 percent of those young people changing their minds as they move through the life cycle?

3. The argument from despair is bait and switch.

They are trying push the idea that gay marriage is inevitable, because they are losing the argument that gay marriage is a good i...
