The Texas House has just approved a measure that, if finalized, will legally allow official student organizations at colleges and universities across the state to discriminate against gay students (among others).

LGBT students at Texas A&M might feel unwelcome on campus in the coming years thanks to a vote this week by the university's student senate. By a vote of 35 - 28, the organization has decided to allow students to opt out of funding the school's LGBT center if they have "religious objections."

If plenty of rest could prevent STDs, we'd take a slut siesta twice an afternoon! Unfortunately, this dangerous misinformation is actually being spread by California's Clovis School District, which is teaching its students that "plenty of rest," going out in groups and a host of other silly ideas prevent STD infections. Not taught by the district as a method of prevention? Condoms!
There will be a lot of surprised teens in Clovis in the coming years, which is why a coalition of group has filed a lawsuit against the school district based on its sex (mis)education program. Details follow.

Yeah, no laughs.
