Notice the rainbow colored profile pics that began popping up on Facebook over the weekend? No, it’s not a viral promotion for Justin Bieber’s upcoming nail-polish line (really?!) — the altered pics are in observance of National Coming Out Day and tied in solidarity against anti-gay bullying.

Launched in 1988, National Coming Out Day has existed to help lessen the burden of opening the closet door. This year, the internationally celebrated holiday (thanks to support from the HRC) is tightening its focus to raise awareness of the recent spate of suicides and hate crimes suffered by the community.

How will you observe (inter) National Coming Out Day?

During a march led by New York Governor David Paterson to call attention to the recent coverage and climate of bullying against gay youth, Broadway-come-primetime star Cheyenne Jackson took the crowd on an emotional journey "Over The Rainbow." Our tiny hats are off to these guys.

The summer might be officially over, but the hotness is returning to NYC’s infamous night of performance, Boy’s Night at Fuerza Bruta. Though it took a break during the summer months, the night featuring a mostly-male cast of the Stomp/Blue-Man-Group-esque show returns! It’s our second favorite way to strain our necks while looking up at hot, half-naked men contorting in rhythmic positions above us (now that our Blanche Devereaux Memorial Boudoir has opened).

Wanna look up with us for a night of performance art and debauchery? If you plan to be in the New York City area on Saturday, October 2 and want to check out Boys Night at Fuerza Bruta, subscribe with our website and head over to our Swag Suite area for a chance to win ticke...

As expected, the "Judy Garland of the conservative base," Ann Coulter, displayed nothing short of offensive anti-gay rhetoric at GOProud's Homocon event over the weekend. What hundreds of wealthy GLBT paid GOProud (and therefore paid Coulter) to hear? That "gay marriage" is wrong, that gay babies should be aborted and that parents don't want their children learning about the GLBT community in school. Where else could the $150,000 speaking fee GOProud paid Coulter have gone?

Talking Points Memo sums up Coulter's speech:

In one of a series of racially insensitive remarks that pervaded her speech, Coulter added, "Marriage is not a civil right. You're not black." It was part of a larger argument on which she later elaborated, telling the...

While we don't quite think of them as an opening act, Scissor Sisters will do just that for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour come February 2011, according to Ticketmaster.com. Scissor Sisters are scheduled for nine dates of the insanely-popular tour and will surely draw in plenty of gays like us who have already caught The Monster Ball twice once!

If you ever doubted the presence of a gay behind the Creative Arts Emmys—the Schmemmys, as Queen Kathy Griffin has appointed them—Saturday night's winners should have you turning into a believer.

Not only did Neil Patrick Harris win twice (once for his insta-classic guest spot on Glee), but the fiercest bitch around town and unofficial ruler of WeHo, Betty White, took home a Schmemmy for her landmark, Facebook-approved appearance on Saturday Night Live (best guest appearance by an actress in a comedic series). Since Hollywood's ICU IT Girl is above the unaired Schmemmys and will only show up at live television events, we only have pictures of the gorgeous NPH working the red carpet.

Congrats to both!
