MSNBC's Chris Hayes spoke with Kaitlyn Hunt, the 18-year-old girl facing felony charges of sexual misconduct with a minor (and possible sex offender registration) based on her consensual relationship with a freshman female high school classmate.

Kaitlyn's been offered a proposed plea deal that would require her to plead guilty to child abuse, be sentenced to two years of child abuse, and attend sex offender counseling (you know, with actual sex offenders).

In April we reported on Kristopher Sharp, the University of Houston-Downtown junior who was running to become vice president of the university's student body.

Well apparently the students at UH-Downtown aren't easily influenced by fear-mongering and bigotry, because Kristopher won the election!

He speaks with POZ Magazine about the experience after the jump!

Republicans have threatened to squash the bill if the provision is included.
