Earlier this month we reported that noted psychiatrist Dr. Robert Spitzer had officially retracted a study he authored in 2001 that has since been used as key reference for the "ex gay" movement. Today, he's gone one step further by issuing a heartfelt apology to the LGBT community.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has blocked a campaign of "ex gay" therapy advertisements from running on his city's buses after international criticism today.
“London is one of the most tolerant cities in the world and intolerant of intolerance," said Mayor Johnson in a statement. "It is clearly offensive to suggest that being gay is an illness that someone recovers from and I am not prepared to have that suggestion driven around London on our buses.”

Thank Gaga we did not decide to satiate our daily pancake cravings in Paramus, New Jersey last month! Had we taken NJ Transit across the Hudson on the fateful morning ABC News' What Would You Do decided to conduct a social experiment on ex-gay therapy, we might be writing this from the East Jersey State Prison library. Thankfully, the only infraction we now risk being charged with while watching the eye-opening segment is a noise complaint from our neighbors as we yell at our screen.
