The National Organization for Marriage, which, besides having it in its name, kept its anti-gay battles limited to marriage to stay away any evidence of animus. Until now. NOM has officially (and for the first time) untethered itself from battling same-sex marriage to become a general anti-gay hate group. How's that for animus?

The tireless work of Jeremy Hooper, one of Instinct's 2012 Leading Men and the force behind NOM Exposed, has revealed a dirty new campaign coming soon from the National Organization for Marriage. Details follow. 

When it comes to Adam Levine (who would make marriage equality his first order of business should he ever become president) and the other heartthrobs of Maroon 5, there is no amount of exposure to the men of the band that we'd count as overexposure.

So, despite our confusion over Maroon 5's hotly anticipated new album title, Overexposed, the collection of synth-pop, soul and pop-rock heavy hits leaves us wanting even more of the band. Ironic!

MSNBC booked Maggie Gallagher in the correct studio today, allowing for a full on head-to-head heavyweight match between NOM's most outspoken chair and Fred Karger, the openly gay former GOP presidential candidate whose lawsuit helped move the homophobic organization's internal Maine memos into the public arena.

The National Organization for Marriage's head homophobe Brian Brown has lashed out a second time to defend against criticisms that his organization sought to exploit racial tensions. In today's round of defense, Brown ironically chooses to promote people of color who are against civil rights for the LGBT community. 

A storm of outrage reaching further than just the LGBT press has sent a deluge of scandal the way of the National Organization for Marriage. No wonder the anti-gay group wanted to keep its internal memos from its fight against love in Maine sealed!

(Apologies for the headline. That string of four words together doesn't make for a pretty picture. Yet another reason to be thankful Maggie isn't running the shit show.)

We've been eager to hear NOM's response to NOMexposed, and today we get it in typical denial form from executive director Brian Brown. In his schpeel he feigns flattery over the endeavor and seems to miss the key point that the initiative will accomplish: exposing the millions of dollars pouring into the anti-gay organization off the books from the Catholic and Mormon churches -- NOT the eclectic flock of minds that NOM beguiles and preys upon. But are we really surprised that Mr. Brown is missing a key point? Seems to be his and the anti-Christian organization he...

In an effort to reveal the National Organization for Marriage's true donor base and ties with the Catholic and Mormon churches, the Human Rights Campaign and the Courage Campaign have teamed up to launch www.NOMExposed.org. We're just off from a press conference with the two orgs where they had a chance to explain the new initiative.
