It looks like the gays may have the best seat in the house at President Obama's State Of The Union address.

Tracey Hepner, co-founder of the Military Partners and Families Coalition, which works as a support group for LGBT military famlies has scored a plum seat with First Lady Michelle Obama!

The Uniting American Families Act—legislation that seeks to allow gay and lesbian Americans to sponsor their international partners for U.S. residency—was reintroduced into Congress on Tuesday. For the first time in the bill's history, the reintroduction included support from GOP lawmakers in the form of co-sponsors Reps. Richard Hanna (NY) and Charlie Dent (PA). 

Despite a shaky start in the nomination process, President Obama's Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel is no longer ambiguous in regard to his position on the post-DADT era and the fight for equal benefits for LGBT military families. 

Republican House Speaker John Boehner, one of the primary proponents of the continued defense of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), swore in two openly gay House Reps on Thursday.

GLAAD handed out its annual Amplifier Awards honoring the best in LGBT advertising and PR Tuesday night. Though its year in advertising boasts a string of reasons it deserved the top honor last night, JC Penney's "First Pals" catalogue image featuring dads Cooper Smith Koch and Todd Koch and their kids Claire and Mason stood out. 

The family sent in a video acceptance speech as they received the Outstanding LGBT Image in Mainstream Advertising award from GLAAD. Check it out after the jump!

A new directive from the Obama Administration and the Department of Homeland Security will issue new guidelines to immigration field offices across the country, changing the way bi-national same-sex couples are treated by the federal government.
